Default Black Headlights w/Halos and Gloss Black Duct Inserts

I finally finished my winter project. I added some black headlight assemblies with halos from RLSebring and gloss black (painted) fender and quarter panel duct inserts from American Hydrocarbon. I got the idea for the duct inserts when I first saw the ones on the C7Z. I thought they may give the car a newer look with a little pop in comparison to the stock plastic material. I'm really, really happy with the results. BIG thank you to Robert Sebring (our resident headlight expert) and Pat at American Hydrocarbon.

I feel like I finally have a contender here! I don't post many pics of my car because I always felt like it was a just another plain old vette in comparison to the beasts you guys have. Next up, new rear monospring and hardbar bolts to slam this thing. If you have any questions, fire away.

Thanks guys. I was on the fence with black on red too. Pics are hard to come by and our headlights just don't photograph well sometimes (in my humble opinion). So I started looking at other cars like the 458 Italia and it looked like the color combo really worked. I think the splitter, side skirts, and duct inserts contribute to it - a splash of black here and there (but a little more than stock) seems to make it flow well.

I'm glad I did it.

Looks Great, very well done!
How difficult is it you install the halos on the lights? In other words, very difficult, lots of man-hours, or need special tools.

How much did the whole black headlight and halo upgrade cost you? (if you don't mind my asking). I wouldn't mind getting that done also.

Looks great...but those chrome wheels are killing your theme in a bad way.. Get some black wheels.

^^ Agreed. Car looks great otherwise.

Also might want to think about adding a tint to the Corvette/Z06 emblems. Nothing crazy, just 20% tint or so. Mine are 20% all around. If I had to do it over again I would do the Corvette emblems in a 50-60%.

You made it happen my friend!

As far as I know there are two ways. DIY with a kit from several vendors on here, but you have to crack open the headlight assemblies, install the halos with adhesive, then re-seal everything. I'm in no way qualified to do that so I went with option 2 - RLSebring will do the whole thing for you. You can send him your headlights and he can add black bezels and halos or you can keep your stockers and he'll get a set of black headlights for you and do the work. Wiring is pretty straight-forward - you can install an "add-a-circuit" in the interior wiper fuse spot and the halos come on when you start the car.

$1600 for the assemblies plus halos if you want to keep your original headlights. I think it's a lot less if you send Robert your headlights; I'm not sure of the exact price though - maybe he'll chime in.

Damnit LFZ! You pointed out the ONE thing I hate about the car!
I can't tell you how long I've been waiting to replace those wheels. The ones I really want are the machine face cup wheels with comp gray barrels. I screwed myself though because I have Michelin PSS tires and I'm not giving them up. I've looked into every option - repros (unavailable), stripping the chrome and painting them to match, buying a set of silver spiders and having those painted to match. Every single shop I've talked to has shot me down on every alternative.

You NEED to get rid of those chrome wheels....that is your mission in life from now on.

You read my mind! Thanks for this. I was literally about to start searching for badges that are a little darker. Perfect option, never even thought about tint.
