scraping out of the driveway!
have a 2011 zo6 carbon. when I moved to my new house, quickly realized that the driveway has a transition to the street that no matter how I approach it, it still always manages to scrap the front splitter on the road... driving me nuts and makes me feel guilty every time I want to take it out. any suggestions? Anybody tried to make a custom ramp to fit the contour of driveway to street?

Are you scraping the front splitter or the spoiler underneath the car? If its the spoiler under the front of the car, I wouldn't worry about it. The splitter is another thing. You may want to build some 2x10 ramps.

Have you consiudered having a concrete guy "reslope" the entry? My neighbor got a ZR1 and was scraping. The problem was easily remidied by taking out a few feet of the transition and leveling it out.
Don't think it was all that expensive either.

If the splitter doesn't have physical damage that you've seen/felt, it's the plastic deflector underneath (costs around $100 to replace). Try it one more time and when you hear the scraping stop the car, get out and check the clearance. When I did that I took the pic below. In my case it's the deflector and it scrapes every time, no matter how slow. I just learned to live with it.

pic would help to find a solution but if the road is an inch or two below the belgian block entrance like a mini cliff. then i would just go to homedepot and get a 2x12x8 foot and throw it down in front of the curb when you want to go out. pick it up when you get home. no one should say anything for a few hours of the board being outside.

Another option is to lay some steel plate down to make it a more gradual transition. Doesn't look as bad as you'd think in certain neighborhoods. It's not cheap but works very well.

Mine does the same thing. I just try to take it slowly, and at an angle. May have to replace the air dam at some point. Think of it as the sound of anticipated joy......

I recently bought my z06 and the former owner lowered the car about and inch or so. I was constantly scraping out of my driveway and on the road. The car was almost undriveable. I had the car raised to the factory height and i still scarp every once in a while. I too have learned to live with it.

I went to a local steel supply place and they had 2x8" steel plates just for this. They said they get people coming in all the time for them. Used that for ~4 years and left it there for the new owner as my new house doesn't have that issue.

I used to think my front zr1 lip used to scrub but it's the plastic shield unda that so don't care. Check to see which it is or buy the steel ramps as unreal suggested

Sounds like you need to move to a different house built to Corvette standards...
