H/C Z06 mojave mile?
What are you guys trapping at the mojave mile with your H/C Z's? I did a search and did not find much. I am thinking of trying it out this year and am curious what to expect. thanks

My stock 09 Z06 did the MM at 173.5. I'd say a mild cam and good tires will hook up to the mid 180's. Note the DA for the MM is typically about 3000'. They now usually run the 1 1/2 mile event the same weekend. I trapped at 196.5 with a tail wind. Cam'd should be over 200 and might challenge the 200 tech limit +5 over, so take that into account for tire rating and safety equipment required, rules are on line at mojavemile.com

The think the aero bits on the ZR1s sort of hurt them at 150+, great for track day downforce but bites into top end a hair at these events.
I'll be running the Michigan mile in june and will post vids and times afterwards.

I know this isn't exactly the information your looking for, but may be worth noting for comparison. I trapped 167.1 MPH last weekend at the Mojave Mile in an 03z that is stock. I did tape the gaps in the flip up lights, but I did not increase tire pressure, fold in the mirrors or use race gas.

Wow thats better than I would have thought for a stock 03 Z . Good run! Im going to try and make the Ohio mile this year with my car. Its apart right now getting a set of Trick Flow 220's from Brian Tooley and his Stg IV N/A cam, along with a FAST 92mm, dual disc clutch, trans rebuild, blah, blah, but still stock 346 short block. Its a 2000 FRC. Cant wait to see what it goes. You gave me some hope to see 170's. To the OP post up results if you go. Im curious as I am picking up a stock 07 C6Z next week.

My stock 09 Z did 173.5 at the MM (NT05's). It did 196.5 (PSS in stock sizes) with a tail wind at the 1 1/2 mile there, DA about 3000'. They do not allow full drag race starts as they use the municipal airport main runway - when Burt Rutan's launch and space plane's aren't using it!

Practically, the launch makes more difference in the ET, which they don't measure than on the trap speed, which they do measure.
As an example, the first time I ran there in the mile, new to the Z06 transmission I did three passes shifting 1-2-5-3-4-5 and two clean 1-2-3-4-5 passes. The slowest of the bad shif passes was only 3MPH slower than my best clean pass. After I read the Ranger sticky on shifting the transmission, all my passes since then have been clean and quick.
