Default Which tires for 2008 Z06

I have the stock Goodyears on my car and am looking for something with more straight line traction. My friend has had great luck with Nittos 555 series on his 2002 Z06, but they don't make anything in the size for the 2008. My car is stock and is 98% street use. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Nitto NT05's have decent grip and come in 285 or 295 fronts and 335 rears. You can also get NT05R's for the rear 345 and they will have very good straight line traction, but not corner that great.

Michelin PSS non-RFT's also have good forward traction and cornering, with good tread life. They are excellent street tire and work OK for HPDE's. They will run $3-400 more than the NT-05's.

If you don't care about tread life and don't get too much rain then the Toyo R888's hook up quite well once warm and should be OK in the rain (not reports yet). They are a streetable track tire so tread wear will not be outstanding.

I have narrowed it down to the PSS or the RE-11s. Had the RE-11s on my other C6 Z51 but want to run the 345s on the new 07 Z06 but they don't make an RE-11 in that size. So, PSS is my next choice.

I have 345/30/19 Kumho Ecsta XS and they seem pretty decent with minimal wheel spin. But I'm also 100% stock.

I'm 550 at the wheels and love the Michelin's... I did the 285 345 with no issues. Start watching prices now so when they go on sale you can pull the trigger. A bunch of us got all 4 for $1300.00,delivered

I really like my NT05/NT05-R's 285/345 combo. So far I'm amazed how good my car does on the street now.

Where did you find the Michelin 285 345 for 1300 delivered. Baby needs new shoes for the summer. :-)

Tire buyer had a sale and there is a web site "retailmenot" that has coupons and last spring had a 13% off coupon with free shipping. I had it sent to our local shop who charged $25.00 per tire to mount and balance. I just checked the site and there are no good ones on there. Just like anything else, have to be patient... and keep checking on here, usually someone posts if they find a bangin deal. There is also another thread down a bit. Michelin PSS any in stock by SONKIST with some info...

I just installed Michelin PS2 ZP's on my 07 Z - they are Amazingly better than the stock Goodyear tires - Better traction, better ride, quieter - I love 'em!
A little spendy but worth it.

I found Michelins at rims4less.com for $300 per tire. Haven't called yet to see why they are so much cheaper but it's way cheaper than anywhere around.

No Pilot SuperSports in stock or normal up sizing listed at that site. some PS2's at good prices.

Just because the tire is made by Michelin doesn't mean it is a very high performance tire, for instance the Pilot All-Season 3 was one of the ones listed in Z06 size for the fronts. That is a great all season tire, but not as good for handling as the PS2 or the newer PSS.

I just checked Costco and Walmart...yeh, I know you're laughing, but prices aren't too bad.

anyway, Costco has Pilot Super Sport 325's for $429.99, X2 = $860.
Walmart has PSS 275's for $249, X2 = $498.
860 + 498 = $1358.

with the small difference in price, get michelin. NT05's are just fine, but for the money I'd get michelins. Invos have absolutely no business on a car of this caliber. They make the car feel flobbery and greasy.

Well said. Absolutely my experience after driving on all three.

We're on the same page AzDave47. I only want the PSS or PS2s. Not the All Season as my Vette stays tucked in during inclement weather!
