Default Repaired Heads

Having owned my 2008 Z for a couple months and reading all these threads about dropped valves, wiggle tests, and getting heads repaired at WCCH with bronze guides and SS Valves - has anyone dropped a valve after replacing their heads?

There was one that I can think of but I can't tell you what all was involved, I don't remember. I think there was a thread about it here. I lied, they weren't WCCH heads.

Richard at WCCH says he knows of none and no heads have been returned to him.

Call him, he will talk to you.

With what you describe and done by the company you refer to, the answer is no.

Ahh..... looks like my reading comprehension is slipping. He already had Richard do his heads.

OP, you can put this on the bottom of your worry list

Edit: Nevermind, these weren't done by WCCH.

Thanks guys, I bought an extended warranty when I bought my Z, since I bought it used at a Toyota Dealer it's not a GM Warranty, but it does have a 100.00 deductible and the local Chevrolet Dealer does honor this warranty company. I will probably wait awhile to swap the heads. My Father In Law has an identical Z to mine but his is a 2006 Machine Silver with about 45K, mine is a 2008 with 23K on it. I think he should get his done as he lives in Southern California and is not too far from WCCH.

I wouldn't wait. Personally I wouldn't have chosen the SS valves, but since you're already there, don't risk it.

I had my heads replaced under warranty on my 2008 Z06 with 22k miles just before my 26th birthday because I didn't want to take any chances to ruin my "late 20's" right off the bat!

Absolutely not, do not wait on this. We have another owner here yesterday who had waited and now gets to pay for a new motor. Do you really want to go through the headache of having to get this fixed through two dealerships? Park the car......install the heads.....nuff said!!
