Actually you just interpreted what I said wrong. I DONT think you should take up two spots and I DONT EVER DO IT MYSELF. I was just saying that IF you're going to do at least do it far out to try to show some kind of respect.

I usually try to find some other nice car or cars parked in the back and park beside them. They're more likely to be careful and it keeps others from parking beside you. Protection in numbers.

What makes people think that parking in a double spot will stop others from parking right next to you? You're sending a message inviting trouble, "Hey a$$hole, my car is better than yours and ALWAYS deserves two spots!!"

Well I don't drive the Z as a DD but when I do It's pretty easy to just check out where you want to sit your baby. I'll take two spaces sometimes but only if the parking lot is 70% empty. And most of the time when I come out of the store someone has parked close to me.
The ideal that taking up two spaces in an area where no one is parking will bring out the butt plugs is an incorrect assumption.
People who feel the need to damage some else's car because of small ***** syndrome will always carry the numbskullyosis gene no matter what. I do what I can to keep the car safe and that's pretty much all we can do. If it's chipped, scratched or damaged.....just fix it.

I must be in the vast minority here that doesn't really care where I park. I just look for a convenient spot that's not being too closely hugged by the surrounding cars. If it's up-front, great, if it's farther away, not a problem either.
It's a car, it's a daily driver, it's a fun track machine... it is not however a trophy that I keep polished and admire.

I being a new Z06 Owner have turned into a dick when parking the car, I park so far away from everyone and take up two spots so I can keep this car pretty forever. I even select Hotels we stay in on road trips based upon parking and security on the grounds, this Z has turned me into a different person

I have just been parking way off in the distance next to a curb/planter in one space. If someone wants to be a jerk and harm my car, well I guess that's why I have insurance. I have really become this way over the years with people door dinging my nice vehicles, the Vette has made me even more cautious of keeping it nice for years to come.

I park away from the crowd of cars, and I park at the *second spot from the end*, right on the line, such that the remaining space on the end is real tight, too tight for some big cars to get into.
Technically, I'm only taking one space, but I try to make that end space very undesirable.
If someone with a smaller car wanted to be a d*ck and squeeze in there, then they could, but haven't had that happen yet.

Well they should be parking furthest away. They need to walk their fatasses long distance to lose some weight.
