When a friend invites you over and the first thing I do is pull up my "Weather App" to check for rain and then ask, "Do you live on a dirt road"?

Also when a ZL1 comes up beside you at 60MPH, I drop back to 2nd gear, pull up to 6k and enjoy seeing him about 3 cars back.

I check the radar map before it rolls out of the garage.

We recently attended the wedding of a co-worker. We pulled up in my Silverado and all of my other co-workers were disappointed. "We thought you'd bring a Corvette!" I said "No way. A wedding at a vineyard out in the Texas countryside? I was sure I'd have to drive down a dirt road." And I was 100% correct. Dirt/gravel road for the 3/4 mile from highway to the vineyard.

I don't understand that logic. Are you saying that the Z06 is NOT a vette? I understand that the Z06 is quite a bit better than a standard vette, but it is still a vette, just a different model.

You check the weather forecast prior to every drive… Your garage is the cleanest room in the house… Sometimes you wake up and walk to the garage just to make sure everything is okay with the Z. Granite I just bought mine so the new car nostalgia has not worn off yet.

Here is mine.

When you park in the south 40 and you come out of the store and you take off on a dead run to get to your car, because a car or truck has parked next to you, cursing a little bit and screaming on the way you are going to take your boots the car truck parked next to you. You get there and you find your baby is safe and all of a sudden you go limp and you could not kick anybody's ***? Just a sigh of relief.

Or another one I have is I can't find a parking spot so from under the seat I pull up the wheelchair sign that my wife uses. Then I get out of the Vette and limp into the store? People look at me with such pity. I know this is bad, but I do it. My wife says I'm half nuts and I tend to agree with her sometimes? :yes nod:

Fun Fun Fun. And I thought I was the only guy that did things like this?

Joe
LOL that's hilarious with the handicap sign. Don't think I could pull that off. The worst is coming out of the store walking the 2 miles to your car just to fine 100 empty spots…. but then…. you look closer and see a ricer parked in the spot right next to you.

When you are the only one still on the gas whist cornering a roundabout ...Unfortunately I always seem to get behind the Prius doing 1mph around the roundabout.

I just think it's stupid to tell someone 'no - it's not a vette'. Most people who aren't vette owners don't know the difference anyway. If someone asked me that, I would say yeah - it's a vette but it is a special vette. Telling them it's not a vette just adds to the stigma that vette owners are jerks.

When, try as you might, the smile won't go away until the car is put back in the garage.

Kinda true.....it takes a GREAT rider on a 600 to beat the Z06, and a Good rider on a 1000cc.

When you have an ongoing internal battle between loving your Z because it is a beautiful, amazing car and hating it because you have to fix the heads.

Or constantly trying to find a reason to get rid of your car and get something 'better' because it is stupid that GM won't admit there is a problem. Then after looking at countless vipers, Porsches, etc... You just have to sit back say. I love my vette, what was I thinking?

And also, parking at work where you can see it out the window, not because you are afraid of vandalism, but because it looks so damn good.

When you have to drive up on ramps just to get a low profile jack under your car.

When you have an extra set of rims and tires taking up all the room in your garage.

When you log into the z06 discussion every day hoping that the root cause has been found.

When you promise yourself you will sell the car because of the valve issue, but then you end up buying a $4000 set of wheels and tires, a $1500 carbon fiber kit, $250 brake pads and then kick yourself.

When you don't know anything about cars, but you could explain 12 different theories behind z06 valve guide wear to a master mechanic.

When you drive like you are drunk, swerving to avoid any imperfections in the road.

You take the long way EVERYWHERE.
