When 405 h.p. isn't enough......
I traded the '02 Z06 to Corvette Mike today and picked up a 2006 Z06 with 11k miles on it, 2LZ with NAV. The roads around here are terrible still but I was able to get it in the garage all cleaned up from the ride. I have 2 quick questions. How do you get the mats out ? I didn't want to break something by pulling too hard on the round circle in the center of the mat. Also, I didn't check the head-up display until half way home but it's not working. Any simple fixes for that ? Fuse or something ?
And of course a few quick pictures
Thanks all,
Mark

Great car, you will enjoy it.
The mats should pull right up over the tab, may have to tilt the mat just a little forward.
On the HUD, on the left side of the instrument panel, there is a little lever marked + . Push that and hold it. That controls the HUD brightness and is the most likely cause.
Do you have an owners manual? If not you can download a PDF version off the GM Corvette web site. There are lots of good hints in that.

Thanks for the quick reply...
One more question:
How do you keep the battery tender on the car during the Winter when the battery is in the back ?
Thanks all,
Mark

The HUD might be turned off. I think it operates with a dimmer switch. I see tat our mats have2 circular discs . Mine has the hook type but from other cars Ive seen they fit right over the tabs. just pull up . enjoy the new ride

I hook it up to the jumper point and to the header bolt . I run a extension cord over the fender, I place everything on a soft towel and gently close the hood. my cover goes over that. There are hook ups available for the lighter and one that goes through the front grill that is permanent. I have never seen the purpose of that when the over the fender method has worked for me for 8 years. Again enjoy the car.

Congrats. Looks almost like my car did when it was stock, inside and out. It's changed a bit since then though
Mine had the polished wheels though, not chrome. Don't think Chrome was an option until 07, so those wheels might have been take offs from another car or repos. Just an FYI.

My car is garaged, so when I put the battery tender on I use the cigarette lighter (always powered) and use that to hook it up, crack the driver's window open a 1/4" and run the cord through that. If you leave it outside you may want do it underhood as indicated above. Some people install a permanent plug to make it easy, but here the car can be driven all year round.

Congrats mike. Red on red with the chrome looks sharp. I hope they get these pot holes fixed, I can't wait to get on the road again. I'm surprised mike didn't give you the quick tour about how everything works on he car. Cheers.

Congrats! Came from an '03 C5Z myself before picking up my '09. Sure looks clean. I use a tender with cig lighter adapter and run the cord out the drip edge on the door sill. My car is a weekend car, so I put it on a tender about once a month for a week...especially if I didn't take it out that weekend.

Very nice car, I have the same one in blk/blk. Got it last year with 8k miles on her.
First thing I did was order 3 new mats (black w/ red bindings) from Lloyd Mats.
Enjoy

Oh one thing I didn't mention is be careful when pulling those mats off. I pulled the mat over the entire ring trying to get it out.
