What adjustable cam gear did you go with?

The Cadillac lifters are actually not that great. Stock LS7 are the way to go in my opinion.

What cam gear are they using?

I was told the Cam gear chain is from Katech, I'll ask about the gear.... I assumed they would use the same gear only has 16K miles on it....... Maybe not huh ?

I don't see how a guy plans to index a cam without an adjustable cam gear then.

Willie, Has purperformance taken the heads off you Z?--- Any updates you can share with the forum on the condition of the valves and play the experts think are causing the dropped valves?

Will your builder be using the 2 piece hollow stem sodium filled valves that came in the car or replacing with stainless Steel, one piece valves?

The exhaust valves are new SS the intakes were tumbled and polished.

They didn't change the cam gear.

Here are some Head shots..

If they didn't change the cam gear they can't index the cam so I hope they didn't charge you for that.

It's my birthday today.........and guess what I got back today, my
sweet Z that I've missed for almost 3 weeks. But it was worth it.

She sounds just awesome and has a completely different feel to her.
I'm loving it.

Thanks to Pur Performance and AMT , both right here in The "Lou"

Observations after driving my H/C/H'd car, all I can say is she's a more wild beast than before.

Things I like are :
It seem to accelerate quicker ....( ah- dah) . Yeah I know but now it feel so different .

I reach high rpm's quicker, it ramps up very quick almost like instantaneously.

I love the sound, with the Pfadt Headers ,Cats, and X-pipes then back to may Stock Bi-mode mufflers. In the closed mode in traffic the thing just sits there and rumble. In the open mode it's like at the race track. I don't see why I would want an aftermarket muffler system when this setup sounds so good.

Things I don't like are:
The surging....... It surges in 5th gear at 35mph and in 6th at 50mph. Yeah I got better at controlling it as the day went on. But that's something I didn't have to deal with before.

That it !.

Other wise I'm digging it! ...... Power is an awesome thing !

Have fun
Willie

Did you ever get the cam specs?

I don't think you will avoid surging with any aftermarket cams at those speeds in 5th and 6th

When you get the car done bring it out to one of MVP Track Time events and see how it does against the Z's and Vipers that do the MVP events.

For the power it made, that cam shouldn't have excessive surging.
