Default Bolt-On Z goes 9.971 (Video Included This Time)

The "No DA#% Excuses" rental this year gave many new PBs. Jason Miller of MIR did a great job providing us a well hooking and safe track. This year after a T&T session, we decided to run the D.O.T. ET Streets at MIR. (We brought the full size set of M&H slicks along just in case. ) Since Robz was unable to attend this year, he made himself available throughout the day via cell phone helping me as well as several others. On the third pass, we had it figured out. A 1.40 sixty foot yielded a 9.971 @ 137.47 mph.
Thanks Rob, Bruce and Andrew (and your dad) for helping the entire day. Special thanks to C5 Kid for pushing in my trailer ramps after I drove several country miles without locking them in. God was gracious to keep padlocks on top on the trailer the entire way. I thank God for keeping everyone safe and giving us a beautiful day.

Steven Auglis captured this pass and five others on video. This guy is talented.

Hey Ronnie, did you notice that he remembered to bring his video recorder.

I certainly had a great time seeing old friends and making some new ones.

Thanks and yes we have installed the built differential from RPM Transmissions. Rodney and his crew build some great stuff.

Great job. Just curious what rpm are you launching at with the gear change?

Thanks Keith. Hope to see you out at another outing.

That depends on if I'm index racing or ET chasing, track prep, and the tire type. Went low 10.2s index racing at 2200 rpm. Slick or DRs for ET were launched anywhere between 3200 and 5800 rpm. (I know this is a big range.) We try to match the launch to the track and specific setup.

Somewhere around 1800 depending on tire type.

+1 on doing the c6 diff... any downsides to swapping that into a Z with 3.90 or 4.10s with just bolt ons?

Congrats.

Just from a Canadian eyes, this not seems to be one of you're best launch. I think with a perfect launch like you can do, low 9.9 is more than possible.

Healthy engine and a healthy driver = record

BTW, on you're worst launch is farty was hide in you're trunk to spy on you ? I'm asking, because it was unusual to see some weird launch from a pro like you. This is the only reason I see. And lets doing some math here:

Fart weight: 180 lbs, = best Gary run -0.15 slower for fartyfart weight
Gary best run: 9.971+0.15= 10.12 = Very possible like we have see on couple of run. (true Myth buster)

Thanks Seb. We went to the smaller tire and a different technique. Launch felt great in the car but it needs a little refining based on the vid. The 60's were :
1.562
1.450
1.408
1.445
1.402
1.502
1.501
You may be right about Brucey. You will have to ask him in person when you come down.
