Default Blown engine!

Alright guys, I was heading back from Austin today on I-10...cruising at about 80mph in 6th gear and l felt a loss of power. I pull over and theres oil and a chunks of metal everywhere. Bad day for me....

Lets just hope my extended warranty covers it.

2006 Z06 with 52k miles.

If you have a GM warranty and your car is stock, You shouldn't have a problem getting a new engine.

Dropped exhaust valve, spun bearing, broken rod at piston end ?

As long as the motor's internals were unmolested, has the original tune?
OP's getting a brand new LS7. Period.

Ok heres the question.... I have extended warranty, so I can get my car worked on wherever I choose. Should I take it to a dealership or have it done at a Corvette shop? Thanks for the help guys. The only mod the car had was a cai, besides that fully stock and original tune. Luckily! Also, the car has never seen a track and basic street driving. Bought the car at 3500 miles. So, i've done all the driving for the most part.

I think that depends on what your warranty says in the fine print about where you can get it repaired. That said there are good options on both sides but may require traveling out of area a bit if you don't like the local dealers

Take it to Terry Wallace at Vetttech in Katy.

Ah, well, nevermind. Just make sure they can do warranty repairs and don't put aftermarket stuff on there that will void that warranty.

Good luck.

Well I figure since I'm gonna get it fixed, might as well throw a cam and heads in there.... hopefully get some good horsepower out of it.

Check with your extended warranty company to make sure they will allow you to do that. With parts laying on the road you are going to get a replacement engine. Sometimes warranty companies require a stock replacement engine. They may not want to pay for an engine build since that usually costs them more than getting a complete package from GM or wherever.

Why not get a forged bulletproof bottom end while your at it ?
