Have you ever had a major engine problem with your C6 Z06?
Hey all!
I am sure that polls like this have been done in the past, but information is always changing and so I thought I would make a new one.
So basically I'm just trying to find out who here has had a major engine malfunction with their C6 Z06. A major engine problem being one that essentially destroys the engine or requires $5,000+ in repairs (such as the infamous valve issue). And no, if you just had to replace the power steering pump or buy a new radiator, that doesn't count lol.
Alright, thank you very much for participating and if you've got the extra time, please write how many miles are on your vette!

Guess I was the first to vote "YES". Also guessing you can figure out what the issue was. Valve guides. I'm sure there are many more to follow. 40,000 miles on a 2008.

18k miles replaced heads because of guide wear, 22k miles replaced a lifter because the roller broke off. Required pulling heads/block/etc out to fix that.

35K miles - Head refreshed due to valve guide wear
30K miles - BCM failed
36K miles - A/C compressor making lots of noise and will need to be replaced

2007, 35,000 miles... only minor issues that were all covered by my GMPP which I just extended for another 3 years. Stock except for an Akra Stainless Steel slip on exhaust.

I voted yes since my engine was replaced due to a dropped valve. Everything is relative thus I don't consider loose guides that can be fixed by repairing the heads a major issue and probably doesn't exceed the $5K floor set by the OP.

I could only vote once but I have had 2 z06's. The first one was an 06 that I had heavily modded. Sold it with 19000 miles and it was perfect. My current is a 2012 Z with 10500 miles and no issues yet.
