Programming TPMS for Two Sets of Wheels
Can it be done? If not, is there an inexpensive hand-held tuner available just for TPMS?
Thanks.
Thanks.

so you are wanting to program the same sensors to 2 different sets of wheels? Did I read that right?
I wish it was like in the ol C5 days where you just needed a magnet

subscribing to this one because will soon be in same boat. don't want to have to buy a reprogramming tool when i swap wheels whenever I'm in the mood for something different.

Tire Rack sells a very simple one that works great and very easy to use just for this purpose.

I just stop by the local Discount Tire and they will grab their device and do it for free. ( I do buy tires there, so I'm not a total mooch).
However, for the convenience of doing it any time you want to, a $80 device would be worth it.

You should never have to buy an $80 tool on top of the outragoues prices for the sensor itself. Total BS, this TPMS system is for the birds I flipping hate it.... Run with your steering wheel position sensor unplugged and no TPMS for the win.

If you use Orange Electronics sensors in the second set of wheels, you'll never have to go through reprogramming every time you swap wheels. Those sensors can be cloned to match your OEM or any other sensors.
The only problem is that the unused wheels need to be stored at least 50 feet from the car, so the wrong signals aren't transmitted/received. If that happens, it corrects itself after driving a couple miles, but is a little disconcerting initially.

Well the main issue is our CPU will only hold 4 codes from the TPMS. Hence, 1 for each tire. You will have 8 codes total, yes I know simple math. So once you program one set of four codes the others are erased. When you swap, you will have to reprogram the new four codes. The tool is relatively cheap and simple to use if you are going to be swapping them out a lot.

Titan Tpms can clone current ID's and program them into another set of sensors. All you need is your current sensors read from a scan tool that all tire shops will have. Should not cost you and money to do this. This is great for summer/winter tire swap or even a set of track tires.

no big deal actually. the tool cost about $50 bucks and only takes 1 minute to learn all 4 sensors. easy as pie. everyone here should own one.

I have the below mentioned programming tool. It is simple stupid easy to use, yes, that easy....put car in ACC mode, pull e-brake handle, hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons until the horn honks - you are now in programming mode, start with front left tire, put programmer antenna near the valve stem, press the button until it honks, then go to front right tire, etc...then rear right then rear left. After rear left you will hear two honks...boom...you are done, takes a minute or so.
