Default Is this a LS7 427 crate engine?

This number is laser etched on the rear passenger side head near the fire wall. 06256108629322714 . I need to know if this is a 427 LS7. I was told it was a crate engine, but i'm thinking it was pulled from a wrecked Z06.
It does not have the plastic covers over the coils and does not have a tag saying who built it. The motor supossedly has 8,000 miles. And it has excessive valve train noise. The car its in is a 99 Corvette.
Can anyone tell me at least what the heads are from that number?
Then my next question, If it's a 427, what's the part number through any distributor for the Harland Sharp rocker arm conversion preferably from someone that has bought them and used them on their own car. I need to fix this car asap. Thank you!

If you sort through this thread, mostly the last 1/2, it tells you how to decode your LS7 using your engine number (EUN).

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...-your-ls7.html

The EUN sticker is located on the front of the drivers cylinder head.

Hope this helps.

Even crate LS7's have the engine builder plate from my understanding.

Add: look up top at "who built your LS7". Eaglei (sp?) explains inside that thread

There is no sticker on the drivers side head. This car originally came with a 5.7L so i'm assuming some of the front accessories were reused, maybe the sticker was removed. The only visible number is the one I posted above. Along with a larger "823" cast above that in the head.

I think the 823 head is an LS3 head with different port sizes and shapes as well as different valve sizes, relative to the LS7 heads. Better take a closer look at that engine.

The replacement engine that GM had installed in my Z06 did not have an engine builder plate. The mechanic just reused the one from my blown engine. The guy who built my original engine had left Wixom by the time my new engine was built in May 2011.

You can see the LS7 cylinder head part number 12578449 or 12578450 on the exhaust port side of the head.

I didn't pull the valve cover off. I'm stuck on finding out what this mystery motor is first. Got a part no off the water pump - 12600470
Which I see online comes up for LS2, LS3, LS7.
The car was fairly quiet today as far as valve train ticking. It does run rich, has black soot on the inside of the tail pipes. Check engine light is on. On a snap on scanner it said knock sensor 1 and 2. It also does not have O2 sensors installed. (They came along with the car in the trunk) If I remember right with the scanner on the car the O2 sensors registered .43 steady with no movement. (Because there not installed)
Could the car computer be reprogrammed to run leaner?
Also, I'm not seeing any dry sump parts. Can Could they have used a normal oil pan / pump on the 427?
One thing I thought was odd is there's a K&N breather on the oil fill tube
I wish I knew what was all done to this engine. It was run on the Hotrod Power tour twice, 2010 and 2011. Maybe someone has seen it. Pewter 99 Convertible Z06 (clone)
I need to ID this engine!

Look at the rear of the block on the right side below the head and see if it says 7.0L.

If the motor was out, but with a transmission covering it, that will be hard.

If theres any other parts that are specific to the 427 maybe that would work. I have looked everywhere.
The passenger valve cover is dated on the top rear "11:43 31 JUL 10"
Fuel rail bar code label part number: 12610434
and the lower intake: 12602477

I'm looking for anything with number at this point

Intake manifold is ls7 specific. Heads should have ls7 casting number on them too.

Are you saying the number I posted for the lower intake "12602477"
is an LS7 intake?

Well im not taking the motor out to look at the back of the block so with with LS3 parts bolted all over it I will go with that. I guess that's better than the LS1 that came in it. Maybe better than the problematic LS7? But not what I thought I was buying that's for sure...
Thank you for all the help everyone

Doesn't mean it isn't a ls3 based 427.
