Houston Coffee & Cars (Sept 7th) - ZR1 Gathering
To all my Houston ZR1 compadres...
I wanted to start a thread early for the next Houston Coffee & Cars gathering, which will be Saturday, September 7th, hoping to get the word out a bit earlier this time.
For those "not in the know", you can check out the event webpage here (note that more recently they have been keeping/updating their Facebook page more than the website, which can be linked to from the top right corner of the website). Be sure to check out the Gallery pages. The location for the event is at Vintage Park in Tomball, which is just off Louetta (south side) about a quarter mile east of 249 (parking map below).
I will again volunteer to go early and cone off a row of spots for us all if I can get a headcount of those who will attend. We've had great showings of ZR1s over the last few months; nine lined up all together one month!
If you are planning to attend, please let me know and please plan to arrive by 7:00ish. We can hold spots till about 7:30am, but after that we have to start giving them up to others.
How to get to Houston Coffee & Cars: From Houston, heading outbound (Northbound or Westbound however you want to look at it) on 249, exit Louetta, go right on Louetta, and then after about a quarter of a mile, look to your right for Vintage Park main entrance just past the Starbucks. (The top left arrow in the parking map above comes from 249.)
Look for us in the "ZR1 Parking" block in the above parking map. If by chance someone has already taken our spot (the Mustang and Camaro guys like to play games with each other), the 2nd choice will be a block somewhere in the area behind (below in the picture) Starbucks (red pin with the "A" up top). And if all else fails... just look for our signs that say "reserved for ZR1 parking".
Please reply to this thread if you plan to attend, and I will try to keep an accurate count of numbers attending.

Also, there has been talk about getting together for a track day - lots of 'that would be cool' comments, but I have been lazy to do any research - I will try to find some information this week. We could do this either the day of Coffee & Cars, or pick another day that makes since for track availability and/or cost?

Sounds good - I may end up at that one too... my brother's a SHSU alumni, so I am not sure what side I will be on if I do go. Are tickets easy at the gate?

Will be pretty tough at gate this year. Lot's of hype over Manziel, so suggest you go online as quickly as possible to secure tickets...

Thanks for the heads up - I should find out if I am going to the game today/tomorrow. If I do go, I will be in the DD, though...
