[Z06] Poor quality on D2 forged chrome

You might want to see if you can find out if there is a business next door to them and ask that business if they can do you a favor and walk to D2 to see if they are in fact still in business.

Stephan gave me a call today. Seemed sincere about resolving the issue with the wheels. I will keep everyone on the forums updated with the wheel repair resolution status.

Hey Jose, great speaking with you today. Can't wait to help you out and get that wheel good as new.
I work for the D2 company and as a company I can assure you they are huge on quality. From engineering for design and weight reduction to strength and longevity.
The chrome thing has always been a wheel industry thorn in its proverbial side. It's a plating that with any break in its coating can ultimately cause peeling. This means that there is a possibility that a rock chip can later cause pealing in chrome.
This was learned from experience but since the time that Jose purchased his wheels (March of 2010) 60% of the wheels that we now deliver have a hi polished lip with clear coat. This is a major difference from 2010 when 95% of wheels delivered had a chrome lip.
We now give the customer the option of polished or chrome lip. Currently 40% of our customer base can't live with out the bling me being one of them.
Again Jose we will be more then happy to take care of things for you now that we all setup in our new place and running smoothly.
Thanks to the success of D2FORGED Check out our new digs we've been working on:

Not to jump in on this ... but let me jump in on this. I also have a set of D2 Forged rims. I also have a rim with the chrome flaking.
Early on I had issues with two of them having the paint chip away at the lug nut holes. I just filled them up with touchup paint. They look horrible.
Oh and the TP sensors that came in the rims HAVE NEVER WORKED from day one. I've had two dealers and a multitude of other try to program them to no avail. So I just park next the stack of old tires I have in the garage and let the sensor read them. It good as long as I don't go on trips.

HRE excluded....
It's amazing to me how some of these wheel (companies) represented on this forum claim their wheels are 'top-high end' quality. They price their wares accordingly. You take the bait. And come to find out after LESS than six months (my experience with the first company), their no better than a low-end set of wheels (in fact much worse if you consider the cost). Then you go back to them. First, they want to blame the finish defect(s) on the customer, saying that the customer used a product that caused the issue, then after the customer proves not, they blame the defect on the company who did the finish work. They claim they do not do their own finish work (that it's farmed out and that one company basically does all the wheel companies finish work).
Then to get satisfaction, you have to have the wheel/tire broke down and ship the wheel back, which in the end cost as much as it would to go local and just get it refinished yourself.
This has been my experience. Again, HRE excluded.
I've purchased two sets off this forum. Both from different companies. The second set is better than the first, by far, but, have had issue w/the second set recently. It's important to note that the second set went far longer before showing any 'appearance' defect.
In the end, there's only one maker I will spend my money with going forward.
HRE.

Just take these fools to court and be done with it. They seem to be playing you, and unless your willing to take their BS just start the proceedings.
If they contact you again after you filed the court papers tell them you will stop the proceedings once you have your money in hand and accept nothing less.

Wow. I'm liking my OEM wheels more and more.

Yup.
Never ever going with aftermarket 3 piece wheel again. Haven't tried any of the one piece wheels out there but I can almost guarantee that no one makes a wheel as strong as OEM GM wheel.
Aftermarket wheels are great for a show car bad for a real driver.

I have been having some major issues with 360 Forged for the last 3 months. I will be posting a thread on it soon. As much as I love the look of the wheels on the car, I will never go with these high cost, alleged high end wheels again....

Could you be more specific, there is "iForged" and "360 Forged", which company are you referring to?
