Another LS7 down for the count
This one was not a stock engine. It was a forged engine with aftermarket REV SS exhaust valves. If you look close you can still see the intact intake valve still in place. I was surprised to see part of the deck gone. This happened at the top of 3rd gear on the drag strip so engine speed was say around 7K or close to it. So if you think you are safe with solid SS valves, think again. You maybe a bit safer but certainly its not fail safe.

What guides were in the car? Will you be doing the breakdown and inspecting the heads?

So I am only aware of this one.
I said it before. I'm glad mine are WCCH heads.

I know of one said to be SS valve failure in here from a few years back, in a car belonging to a forum member..
And from what I can tell from the posts, out of the same shop that did the work on Madsen's car.

Also why I don't believe that this is a geometry issue which roller rockers can solve.

It's threads like these, that made me do what I just did about today, and hope others do.
I've sent a request to a moderator to have all threads like this merged into one and made a sticky thread at the top of the page...
a sandbox per say for people who keep wanting to debate this issue over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
the 1000000 threads we already have on the SAME subject.
The sticky would also be a resource for new comers to this section so they could go do their own research and make decisions if they want to do something. ..vs starting yet ANOTHER valve guide related thread.

Above said, nothing is indestructible . I don't think any shop or any member who switched over to SS valves thinks they are indestructible or are not subject to blowing up if not driven, tuned or installed properly. Quite honestly, I could see 5 more fail with SS valves and I would not care. By the day, this forum loses credibility to me, we never get the whole story or facts or history of the car. rarely..do we.

Well see what the future holds. To soon to tell.
TI is a great shop from what I have been told, for him to make a post stating that "So if you think you are safe with solid SS valves, think again" knowing all the details, I would listen.

Thanks for the reply. I look forward to the results from the "good" head and the guide measurements.
How many miles on the car since the build was done? Excluding the track time.

Better to let there be separate threads that come and go and are easier to scan through since they don't get too big.
