Default I need your help on identifying this sound.

I have a 07 Z06. I started up this morning. I rev up to 2500 rpm and on the way down in RPM at between 1800 -2000 rpm it makes a whining sound. Only on the way down in RPM that this happen. It does not do it on the way up. Its sound like it is coming from the front of the motor around the intake area. Anyone on here had this happen to them? or if anyone know what it is? If it is an easy fix I would like to do it myself.

Thanks for your help.

Has anybody tried to replace just the a/c compressor clutch? Replacing the whole compressor is pretty expensive.
