Default Ecs / z06 new heads / valve issue!

Hi all,

Make a long story short, friend of mine with a 2006 had a serious motor failure on his z06 due to valve drop issue. So I decided to get my Z06 checked and if needed, done. My car is a 2008 with 6xxx miles. Turns out mine had similar issues and ECS saved a disaster from happening.

This 10 second video explains everything...

NEW HEADS BY WCCH

I'm very relieved now that things are all better. HEADS are from WCCH... ported and has the "good stuff". ECS knocked out the job in 1 day and even tuned it after and sent me on my way.

Thanks again guys for the great work!

I suggest anyone with a Z06 get it checked. I noticed some noise but was hard to tell. Didn't think mine had the issues..... I was wrong. DON'T WAIT PEOPLE! I highly suggest you get a hold of someone to check or if you are close by (I drove 3 hours), call ECS!

BUT,how is this possible? GM SAID THIS WAS ONLY ON A VERY SMALL NUMBER OF LS7's?!?!

How many people have checked their valves and found no problem? That should be the question.

I'm beginning to think that the LS7 with no valve problem is the anomaly.

I dropped mine off at the shop Monday, stopped in to check up on Wednesday and I was showed the valves... not good, out of spec and had wear on them. 2008, 5000 mile garage queen. He said it could have gone at any time, can't wait to get it back. whew, even the wife was happy with the upgrade when she saw them and was told what could have happened! lol

A few, but not many.

Actually, if you want to be accurate it's a guide failure problem -- based on all the evidence currently at hand. Doesn't mean it's the guides fault, of course. With so many guides shot at miles this low it has to be some type of persistent manufacturing/assembly screw-up.

OP, any actual measurements on the original heads?
.
