I had a good buddy with GHL's on his C5Z and headers with hi-flow cats, I bet it was the same as you described in your C6 LS2. They sound incredible but are deafening.

Its drone trust me, too bad you are so far away, I'd take you for a ride and you would see what I mean. If I am cruising say at 70mph, or 75mph in 6th or even in 5th at slower speed, the drone from 1,000RPM up to about 2k is brutal..all you hear is a loud bass type tone/drone , it drowns out everything, Radio, conversation anything.
Put headers on your car and take a nice 3-4 hour drive and report back, I can promise you you will change your tune Hey I love the sound under acceleration and WOT they sound amazing but for cruising around and taking trips, they are worse than Borla Stingers on a C5Z with headers They drown everything out.
I guess if I only tracked the car, or raced it, or weekend cruise here and there I would leave them , but I drive the car quite a bit more and also like to take it out on the road.
You are first in line bro as we have talked about this even before i got the headers. I'll keep you posted
so your Bullets have worn you down

We are pretty much in a similar place as I like my Bullets, although they are not as aggressive as my C5 bullets, but after driving for an hour plus the drone starts to make you a little .
With my stock set-up the PRTs would give me the same bad azz sound without the drone (that your now experiencing with the headers).

The drone is only long uphills. Between 12-1500 approx, and that's my cruise range. Running level, it's not a big deal.
But keep in mind that Corsa specifically advertises - no drone, and it's not true all the time.
Spoke to them at Carlisle 2 yrs ago about it, they told me to change my cats. Not a good answer. NFW spending another few hundred for that.

I had LT's, ORX and Corsa's on two of my Z06's and my ZR1 and had no drone with any of them. I went through 4 different exhausts searching for a set that did not make my ears bleed on longer trips

ahh I see that now was looking at MidAmerica's website , they have a little chart to compare the different exhausts, maybe not the most scientific thing, but interesting to compare. I see under Corsa they listed the Xtreme, sport and just a "Z06" which obviously now I see is the option for us. Good to know.
Looks like I may be ordering them up.

Let me know when you wanna talk about the swap. You going to lunch tomorrow at Brickhouse in Lombard? I should be there...probably will bring the car rain or shine, it rained on the whole 3 hour trip home yesterday from WI.

The same seems to hold true as you say with the LS7, on stock car with stock manifolds blah... but put headers on and it sounds great again..at least from the Video's I've seen so far.

+1 on headers with Corsas...I have kooks plus corsas, great sound! Little to no done, although I know this subject is very subjective to the beholder. I had a 95 zr1 with borlas, now that was a drone at highway speeds. Nothing like that! Def. the way to go with headers IMHO.

Getting WCCH heads, Kooks Headers/ X-pipe, Corsa axel back. Can Not Wait. Reading these posts have eased my "drone" concerns somewhat. Thanks for the posts. Oh yeah, Black Spyder rims & black-out kit also. Had to do something visual too.

Frank, I'm interested in what you find. I have a feeling you and I might be the only two that think PRT's with headers is too loud and have drone. I just took my Z out of hybernation a couple days ago, went for a blast and sonofabitch - louder than I remember. I'm pretty much convinced that the only two axle back muffs that will be tame enough are the Akra's or Borla Touring. I can't stand the tips of either one of them though.... I've had plenty of Corsa exhaust systems on different vehicles over the years. They really don't do anything for me, sound wise. They always fit well though.
