I haven't read many positive experiences with the Harrop intake. How's it coming for you guys?

What's not positive about 740 HP? That is what has been seen with a 3/4 cam, 442 cid and 12:1 CR. We'll have a little more than that.

We start on this by months end. Expecting 750 to 760 HP. Keeping it is the challenge.

Once we show our stuff so to speak, you will see how this setup along with our new GT2Z hood work together to make 750 horsepower.

We have several other mods working in the background as well, including the Full Monte on a new set of heads at Katech.

Today our paint shop started on our carbon fiber rear quarter panels (-11lbs)

We should have our CR-9 Carbon Rev wheels in 3 to 4 weeks. We spent a month getting the due diligence done for proper caliper/spoke clearance with our huge ZR1 Brakes. Pfadt Racing came through for us with awesome engineering information.

On the downside, the new ITB manifold weighs a hefty 34lbs. We will shave off 25lbs removing our current induction system, so we are +9lbs on the front end. I will get that back some other way, and it won't be AC removal. We will be -32lbs just from the front wheels, but I need another 9 to get to 3.68lbs/hp.

Default Foul!!

I am calling "foul" on this whole set-up. I FINALLY get my car almost finished (including your C/F hood) -see my Crystal Z06 thread, and literally MOMENTS later, you come out with this...

Please stop..

Let me just say that our GT2Z hood will have the same window cutout as the ZR1. That window has dead air above it. No turbulence and no air vector. This will be our inlet. Sealing off the rest of the engine bay will be done with a huge sealed section the size of the window.

During our testing of the original GT2 hood, water beads formed after washing the car, never left the section behind the waterfall even driving 100 mph. We have a huge lip on the leading edge which diverts the air well above the windshield. This dead air is clean air, and will be available in instant ambient temps to the velocity stacks.

We know from talking with the intake engine developer that the intake makes 740 STP HP on their engine dyno. Add the plenums from Harrop and you lose 30 HP.

You get the picture.

Our car is visiting Katech in the next couple of weeks for new heads, but we will likely get it running first. Our filtration system will not be finished, so we'll have to trailer it out.

I am disappointed in the 34 lbs it weighs, but we'll get that much off the front to compensate.

Just imagine a 200 shot Just kidding.

Our hood will be part of this package, with a window cutout. We do not expect to sell any of these without first testing it on the dyno and on the street. My goal is 3.68lbs/hp this Summer, this will help get us there.

If someone just wanted a show car, they could run individual foam filters under our GT2Z hood with the window. We'll not have a window.

These are CNC machined billet two part stacks. O-ring and all. This is a piece of artwork.
