Lash cap installation question
I'm doing the DIY head swap and I'm not sure if I should apply a drop of oil to the intake valve tip first or install the lash caps dry. It's supposed to be a "press fit" so not sure if a film of oil would interfere. But I'm also worried about wear with no initial lubrication.
And I had my heads done by WCCH, Stage 2 with REV SS exhaust valves and bronze guides, so I guess "06 Quicksilver Z06" can add me to his list.

Absolutely add a drop of oil under it, or some assembly lube.
1. it acts as an impact cushion and saves the soft titanium
2. adding the drop will allow for capillary attraction of new oil
3. the film will allow it to rotate and reduce any traction/loading on the tip of the valve stem (reducing side load)

Good luck with the install the rest of the way, and I'll get you onto the registry.
Congrats on extricating yourself from candidacy for being next on the dropped exhaust valve list.
Let us know when you get it up and running.:thumbs

so you just add lash caps to the intake side not the exhaust because they are stainless steal. also I bought heads that are done already can i take the lash caps off my stock heads and swap them over? or I have to get new ones?

Drifting
you can re-use the lashcaps as long as there is no visible damage to them.
your new heads are stock LS7 heads that have been gone through and still have the stock intake valves? Those will take the lash cap. Some aftermarket heads do not take a lash cap on the intake.

Thanks. I should have it done in a day or two and will do a follow up post.
I didn't check for symptoms before doing, or have WCCH provide measurements, I just wanted piece of mind. Especially for occassional track days. And the car has been running an LPE GT-19 cam and PRC Gold springs for about 20k miles so I figured it was due for some maintenance anyway.
