Default Forum member doing One Lap of America needs help

I'm cross-posting here in the Z06 section. The main post is over in the AutoX/Roadrace section.

Forum member Chris (forum ID: fmcokc) is doing the One Lap of America event and had a problem today at Daytona. The tach dropped to zero, he got a "Service Active Handling" message, and the car went into a limp mode where it's not making proper power.

If anybody has any ideas please post them up in this thread in the AutoX/Roadrace section:

Also, there's a phone# there for Chris so you can contact him if you have some good ideas about how to solve the problem.

Thanks,

Bob

Default

If this happens to anyone and they scan the car and get an error code for the crank sensor, first look at the alternator. We replaced the crank sensor the next day and all was well for about three hours till the voltage dropped off when the alternator finally threw in the towel. Had another Z06 alternator fail 2 days later on another OLOA Z06 in Pittsburg.
