From a roll it was pretty damn close. Id say the Z06 was ahead by about 1 car maybe 1 1/2 to 160.
From a dig the GT500 was about 10 cars back to 160.

Nice video, it is VERY clear that the GT-R's amazing times come from it's ability to get out of the hole quicker. If it were a roll race, I bet the stock Z would hang or pull slightly ahead.

I didn't specifically call out the quarter mile just performance in general since this was the comparison that popped in my head during this discussion.
Even taking away the launch/ETs, the Z06 had a much better trap speed. 123 vs 114mph. GT500 would have still been eaten alive from a roll.

Have you raced one from a roll?

Can't say I've ever seen a KRs on the road (the review is probably a good reason why ). But unless you've got a good reason why the results would be any different, I don't see what difference that'd make.
In what performance metric is a GT500KR considered competitive with a Z06?
How do you think the GT500KR would compare to a 2013 GT500? Unless I'm wrong, KR has an extra 100~lbs and over 100hp less. Hmmm, I'm not psychic but I think I know the answer to that. What do you think?

Just being honest its a fact on SVTP you need atleast 100-120whp more than a Z06 to run with one in a pre 13 GT500. What's funny is the newer ones seem to need more WHP than any other mustang to run with one yet is so highly regarded, I really liked the 13s (looks, sound, etc) but their performance has let me down

7.86 - Divexxtreme / Stock C6 Z06 / 2-shifts
7.89 - Snorman / 2013 GT500 Stock / 1-shift
Nuff said... moving on..... you guys need to find better DA and stop getting all your data from magazines.
To answer your question 100lbs is negligible in a roll race. In the 1/4 its probably worth about a 10th. But you need to read more specs about the 2013 GT500 if you only think its about weight.
I was only kidding about the KR anyhow other than my real life experience owning one and also owning the Z06. I said it was close, not a win. 1 to 1 1/2 cars. My experience.

Now I am not being honest?? I ran it heads up. I report my findings. LOL.
What I find funny is your guys blind faith in the Z06 in this thread verse a GTR and all the excuses yet I report my results when racing my Z06 against my GT500 and you call it a lie. and I said I lost!

And you still haven't answered any of my questions.
Are you just ignoring the questions that would suggest the KR is uncompetitive with a Z06? 10mph trap is pretty significant.
Thing is, even with these faults, the Z06 is still infinitely better finished and more capable than the GT500KR. If you already survived the shock of the Shelby's $82,395 sticker, then the fact that the Vette whoops its *** at every performance test should be an easier pill to swallow. Within reason, no amount of tuning, tweaking or lightening will make the Mustang's bargain-price live-axle chassis compete with the Vette's finely tuned platform. Honestly, the GT500KR is a machine sold on its name alone. There's nothing here that justifies this kind of asking price — a fact that should be more embarrassing to Ford than any fault we found with the Vette will be to GM.

No benchmark suggests a GT500KR is competitive with a Z06. Not even close.
But I could show you a number of benchmarks, including acceleration runs, where a Z06 is competitive or faster than a 2013 GTR. Add to the fact Jersey has an extra 70~rwhp over stock, his story is actually reasonable.

I pointed to a 2013 GT500 60-130 with an equal and BEST REPORTED EVER 60-130 in a stock Z06. I don't think you would need much intellect to figure out what I was trying to say but I will spell it out.
Given the 2013 GT500 has WAY more power and is lighter obviously it would be a much better match for the Z06 in a roll race. With that one could easily deduce that the KR with much less power and more weight would be inferior to that car and thus the 2013 GT500 would beat it.
Again, for the impaired I didn't say the KR beat the Z06. I said from a 60-130+ roll it was pretty close. The stock Z06 being ahead by about 1 to 1 1/2 cars. I was driving the KR and know very much how to drive (better than your magazine reading skills lol) and the guy in the Z06 didn't own one as it was probably his 3rd time driving it. He is a good driver though.
Hope that clears it up for you.
