Default Powder coating Z06 OEM rims

I have velocity yellow 06 Z06 and I'm thinking of having the rims powder coated black instead of buying new. This would keep the weight the same. Has anyone done this, looking for suggestions pictures.

powder coating is sooo much more durable than paint and doesn't weigh squat.

I powder coated the winter rims for my wife's 4 wheel drive. Up here in the altitude we get snow, road cinders, and they put ice melt down in liquid form. It tears up all rims....
The powder coated rims after 3 winters look almost new.
I was considering powder coating mine as well. I would do it.

Plexi dip works and its much cheaper. If you want to take it off, your rim will look like factory. I almost went the powdercoat route, but I figured I would try this first and I'm glad I did.. I saved that extra money for the engine

These are powder Coated for $160.00 They look better and very tough! Did you tape off the Center cap flags?
Mine are gloss black factory ones. I bought at the Dealer!

Mine have been holding up fine with the dip. It only cost me $50 for all the rims and I still have plenty left over, if I ever need to re spray em. How much did you get charged to take the tires off and how long did you have to wait to get the wheels back? I only put one coat of clear and I probably will put one more. I didn't tape the flags. I painted over them, then came back with a razor blade and traced the inside area, then got a toothpick and started to peal back the dip.. It was pretty easy, I did it in the garage. I took the rims off, sprayed em with the tires on, and put em back on.

Maybe It's just me. But there isn't really anything to compare
here. It was 130.00 to rebuild the sensors and mount and roadforce balance. Seems it was 60 to just demount. So right at 350.00 for the whole deal.
Mines is ready to go to show and drive across the USA. You'll
be touching-up soon if your not all ready.
Plus I can powerwash my wheels!
Lets a better picture.
So I can see yours. Looks like fuzzy phone picture you have!
I bet up close the details look ghetto.

Some say plastic dip! You can get a gallon for 60.00 and when it start's coming off you can quickly pop off the wheel and mask off the tire and respray and your back in business.

I'm not gonna argue, but I haven't touched up anything and I've pressure washed mine every time I wash the car with the pressure washer at my house. You're right, cell phone pics, but they don't look ghetto... Everyone thinks they're powdercoated. Sorry to disappoint.

You want it done right then powder coat them. Plasti dip still looks half *** and cheap (which it is).
