I think this is good news for all the current LS7 owners. GM will be more likely to fix existing issues so the LS7 "brand" isn't harmed which would lower future sales.

Just when we thought the LS7 would die out with the C6.

Woooooooo. Pretty awesome for variety of reasons. Glad to see the LS7 getting its due in other Halo models/cars.

I wonder how they'd place this in the lineup vs the ZL1 and the inevitable comparisons between the two.

Dont expect these sales to be very many. This is a track car without any amenities. No radio and ac is optional.

Notice the optional AC and no radio. Still has a lower power to weight than the GT500.I must say though I like how they "fixed" the tail lights.

I'm glad that the LS7 is going to live on, and this means that the modding community should open up a bit more.

In other news, that car looks pretty atrocious. Looks like something from Fast and Furious. The rear spoiler and front splitter are so out of place.

I also think this is a good thing for all the people worried about the valve issue as the person before me posted.GM would not let this motor live on if it was a design flaw.

Checkmate 5.0

New seats, brakes, wheels, rear end, aero package and an LS7!

The 2014 Camaro models feature a revised exterior design that integrates high-performance aerodynamics for more efficient cooling and stability at high speeds. The new Chevy Camaro Z/28 also features a full aerodynamics package that creates downforce at speed, which helps make it the most track-capable offering in Camaro's history.

"As the ultimate track-capable Camaro, this car restores the mission of the original Z/28, and serves as a testament to the expertise of Chevrolet as the best-selling brand of performance cars," said Mark Reuss, president, GM North America. "The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight, high-revving, dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers for track use; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28."

Checkmate 5.0? I'll go hop in mine and enjoy the heated seats, nice 10 speaker 600watt stereo, cold a/c and quiet ride. If I want power I can add a $5000 paxton setup and make 600rwhp.,

Very cool. Wonder what tweaks will be made to the LS7. None at all would indicate GM is holding steady that there are no "problems."

Any change at all to the valves/guides/etc and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a class-action lawsuit. Not trying to fan the flames, but you have to admit if they changed some parts it would cause a ruckus.

LONG LIVE THE 427 LS7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome on so many levels.

They also cut 300lbs from this Z/28 Camaro. Great job GM! Gonna roast some Mustangs on the track even more than before.

Apparently it's only about 100lbs lighter than the ZL1, even with all the weight saving measures. I don't think I would be very interested in this car, especially considering that it will be 50K+ with markups.

I'll stick to the big boy toy (corvette) for now.

300lbs from the ZL1, 100lbs from the SS/1LE

Using that math, I believe it is around 3800lbs. Still a little heavy.

300 lbs lighter than a ZL1 is what I read on several sites, for what it's worth

GM is really running outta ideas... I used to like the fact that the LS7 was exclusive to the C6Z & 427... It's just becoming another whored out motor...

It has been rumored for quite a while that the LS7 was coming out in the Camaro.

I've read intake and valve covers.
