Katech Torquer with stock manifolds Dyno inside
Finally pulled the trigger on a cam. I had a cam in my C5Z several years back and loved it, and even thought the C6Z has tons of power stock, I missed that loopy idle and on cam throttle response.
I must say the car drives amazing. It rev's very easily, and is just SO driveable around town. Beside the loopy idle you would never know it was there. I did 60mph in 6th gear with no surging or bucking. I didn't have a chance to open her up do to the cold temps in NJ.
For years, I had never seen anyone do a cam with the OEM manifold. I always wanted to see what the Torquer would do with the OEM manifold and I must say for the money, I am very impressed. Best bang for the buck as far as horsepower mods. One would spend about the same money for a high quality cat back exhaust.
Thanks to Josh at Horsepower Addicts in DE. Josh is super nice knowledgeable guy and went above and beyond to correct some issues I had with a prior valve train rebuild. He took extra time to make sure the car was 100% when it left his shop.
So here is the Dyno. Keep in mind this was done on a cold day so Josh said the corrected HP is about 515 and 491tq.

Those are pretty good numbers for literally only a cam. I had a similar setup before our Katech engine and I made 535/490 through stock exhaust. That also included a ported manifold/TB and cold air intake.
You'd love the torque increase if you added headers. When we did, we saw peak gains of about 20/25, but there were places in the mid-range curve that we picked up 45-48 rwtq.

Not bad actually, Livernois has a video of their stage 2 cam only on the dyno, and if I recall, around 520-525 rwhp.

sounds good. Are you still using the OEM airbox??

I have the Torquer in my '08 Z06 and love the torque. I did not now the value of torque until I got this cam. You don't need to redline the car to feel it pulling really hard .

Where are you guys getting the torquer cam from besides buying it directly from Katech. Not sure why they charge roughly 150 bucks more for their stuff than any cam you can spec out to your wishes
