Car should be back together and tuned by Monday, if all goes well.
Should be interesting, and I'll try to overlay some HP Tuner logs with the dyno pulls so you can see what the car is doing instead of just seeing static pics. I'm then hoping to make a March 8 TnT at Firebird, but I'll only get to run 1/8 mile pulls and one 1/4 pull before getting booted.
FYI.....our HPDE last weekend had some cool company share the track with us.
SRT brought out 3 pre-production GTS Viper's, testing and tuning their suspension, add-on aero, and tires. Neat car.

Ok I have found it on my book (Not Lingenfelter):
SA26
How to rebuilt a small block Chevrolet
Chapter 7 p.96
By: Larry Atherton & Larry Schreib
''Guide clearance can be checked with hole gauges and micrometer or by wobble method. Move the valves about 1/4 inch of their seats. Then wiggle it side to side. You should feel virtually no wobble. If you have a dial indicator, valve wobble should measure under 0.010 to 0.015 inch (that translate to about 0.003 inch or less guide clearance). Guide clearance greater than this will cause excess oil consumption and premature seat failure.''
Hope this help

I've been asking about this. Other than the book, what's the basis for this calculation???

I don't have the answer, and I spoke with WCCH and they didn't perform a complete set of measurements on all the valves and guides before starting the work. The dial indicator wiggle was performed on cylinder 1, so hopefully the cylinder(s) they did check equate to the front cylinder valves.

Well....the heads came in today, and I can clearly see where the bulk of all the CNC work went; the EXHAUST side
By sheer happenstance, my shop forgot to send my Katech spring kit to WCCH, so my heads came back dissassembled which gave me a chance to peer into the intake and exhaust ports before we installed the valves and springs.
Hopefully these pics can give you an idea :
THe duller areas in the ports in the pic's are untouched by the CNC milling bit, where the shiny areas are freshly milled and bare aluminum.
FYI..... the grinding marks from the removal of the sharp edged casting flash didn't bother me

Richard mentioned it was like 30 minutes for a set of heads and while it doesn't sound like much, keep in mind their back log of work.
I didn't realize this at the time I asked for it, but I do feel a little guilty burdening them with more work.

Yep......it didn't bother me, but some on this board were interested in what my wear measurements were, given my heads/guides had considerably more miles on them than most here at 68K+ miles.

Let me know when you start the bitching thread about the grinder marks, because these are indicative of the actual "workmanship" of the heads. Looks like they turned that midget loose with the grinder again. :
Before you ask; "Quick are you serious? Have you finally lost what was left of your mind?"
No I'm not, and no I haven't.
Just kidding, making reference to, and poking fun at, a thread, and a couple of posters in that thread, which was started here awhile back over these grinder marks, and their trying to extrapolate that to quality of the work done on the actual business end of the heads.
Congrats on the new heads, and good luck with the build, FNBADAZ06, and go in knowing that the work you had done is top notch.
BTW, of all of your pictures, and all of them are great BTW, the following one might turn out to be just as significant as the rest, when or if you go to sell your car or should anyone look under the hood of it.

not a bad idea, Quick.
If they haven't installed my heads yet, I might ask them to do the same thing.
