Default FNBADAZ06 destroys all PB's on it's last visit to the track on stock clutch !

Went out to Speedworld on Saturday to see if I could better any of my personal best in the car, and to run some grudge races for bragging rights against some mebers of another board I belong to.

Only one car took up my challenge...too bad the others didn't show cause they was skeered.

Mario has a built GTO, 6 speed, on a 175 shot.....don't know what he puts down on motor alone, but it runs and sounds great !!!

We agreed to make a single pass to gauge what traction was going to be like.....plus, I needed to knock the rust off.
My launch wasn't too bad, but I hung the clutch way too long (you can hear it in the video)....just too rusty at launching at that time, and my 60' short times show it. I had a feeling I would have to 60' Mario really well, but I didn't want to red light....you can see me and Mario posted almost identical reaction times. My 60' was superior to Mario's, and gave me the lead at the 1/8 mark, but you can see in the video and the slip Mario was starting to come on really strong...5 MPH better trap at the 1/8. My car really back halfs the track well, so I don't know if Mario would have had enough time to reel me in at the 1/4....I don't think he would have had the 5 MPH on me as he did in the 1/8 even if his bottle would have held on.

Watch the videos on YouTube in HD .....and crank up the volume !!!!

Mario vs Victor - first run, heads-up, Mario on 175 shot of Nitrous

Mario vs Victor - 2nd run, Mario on motor only and the hit.

After Mario left, I had fully knocked the rust off my launches by my 5th run....started pulling my typical 1.50's, with an all time PB of 1.53 . After the 60' came around, my slowest time was a 10.92@128.12........ new PB on 60' and ET came on a 10.84@128.94 on a 1.53 60' time.

Saturday night, I had mid-track traction issues but still ran 4 runs in the 10.92-10.95 range with big MPH.
New PB on trap speed, even spinning the tires at mid-track.......129.99 MPH . I feel pretty confident I could've snuck a 130.3-130.5 out of her, as she was pulling like a muth fu$#% at the top end.

So, it ends with my stock clutch with 68,158 miles on it :

Best 60' of 1.53 ....I think that claims the number 1 spot on a stock clutch and near stock engine (CAI...no tune) on CF.
Best ET of 10.84@128.94 MPH ......I'll see where that ranks me in the bolt-on section of CF....without bolt-ons LOL
Best MPH trap of 129.99 MPH.

Pretty freakin' proud of those numbers....all done above sea level DA, stock clutch, and not a single engine issue....stock guides and valves.

LS7 powered C6 Z06's are the ****, and I'm so glad I have the opportunity to own such a bad ***** fu$#$ car.
All hail the mighty LS7

I run the HPDE's all the time with Pro Auto, but last year was tough on the wallet so I didn't have tire money......but I'm running a private event at Inde next month, and scored me another set of MPSC on CCW C14's.

Thanks, Fart.

DA was approximately 900+ , the best air we've had here in AZ in a long time, when I ran the 10.84 .

The air got colder at night, but my traction at mid track went away.
That's when I went the 129.99 MPH

Stock engine, stock tune, stock original clutch, 68,158 miles....ZR1 x-pipe and muffler, Halltech MF103...all runs performed on Hoosier drag radials drag pack, 315/35/17 on C5 Z06 replicas at 17x9.5 .

Impressive! What tires are you running? So by your post you are all stock except the CAI?

You answered all my questions as I was typing! Great runs to say the least!

Oops . I'll keep an eye out for you next time, though it seems it would be hard to miss the red Z. I hear you on the wallet though, just spent a good chunk on new pads.

What's up, buddy...

My 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, I begin the shifting process at approximately 6900 to get as close to the limiter without hitting it. My 3-4 shift.....I usually short shift at around 6700, because if I wait any longer in normal air conditions, I'm usually well past the 1000' mark and end up shifting right before the traps. Short shifting, for my situation, allows the driveline to recover from the shock of the shift, and power out thru the traps......it's the sole reason why my MPH looks so good

Saturday night, I was making bigger power than usually, due to the cold air conditions, so I probably could've shifted the 3-4 at 6900 and still had 400 feet of track remaining to eek out that last 1/100th....I'll never know

thanks, MJ.......I was on that night, and the car was feeling it.
Breaking traction on the 2-3 shift as badily as I did at 92+ MPH with drag radials on was a sensation I'm not accustomed too

This car is truly amazing, and I just can't say enough about the LS7 motor. The total package is just one of the baddest, if not THE baddest, N/A manual 6 speed car on the planet. Once you master it's capabilities, it's very rewarding.
