The Best New Car I've Ever Owned
Is five years old today. ON 12/26/2007 I took delivery of a beautiful black ZO6 2LZ. Today I have accumulated 40,000miles of smile s. This vehicle has been one of the most reliable cars to date that I have had the pleasure of owning. Although the car as never set foot on the track, trust me when I say I have enjoyed what the 427 Z has to offer over my LS2 coupe. Bone stock accept for rubber and lowered. One replaced cat is all I have to show for warranty work. Looking foward to the next five years with this beauty.Happy New Year all.

The Z06 is an amazing automobile, no doubt. However, take 10 minutes soon, and check the threads on your spark plugs for oil. It's quick and easy, and could possibly give you a "heads up", in case you have guide wear. there really are no other warning signs, and unless detected early, could lead to some nasty trouble down the road. My 2006, that I bought new in August 2006, has 38,000 miles, has not been raced, has never seen red line, has never done a burn out, and uses too little oil to notice between changes. However, after reading John_G's very excellent thread on this forum, I checked my spark plugs, and found the threads to be oil-soaked. I'm going to have the heads reworked or replaced sometime soon, so as to avoid the trouble and expense that a dropped valve might lead to.
Here's hoping your plug threads are clean and dry!

Yes, we are all WELL aware of this and the 1000000000000 threads there are here about the subject... QuakeJake has been around this forum a long time and I am 100% sure he's read all that. While I can appreciate you only trying to be helpful... let's just stay on topic here and have a positive thread for change about the car okay? I haven't had my 06 Z but a few months but I have to say its the most impressive car I have owned! I have NO intensions on tracking my car what so ever, however I enjoy the car as much as I can!

i got my 06z for about 4 months so far and have never been this impressed or pleased with a car. My only complaint is that it seems i cant control myself from buying things/modding. happy new years

Similar experience for me with my 06 Z. Only 15,000 miles on mine. All I have replaced is the RF tire pressure sensor. Bone stock except for Bullets. No track time but I love to get the revs up when I can

Our Black Z is 5 years old today too with 25,000 trouble free miles. Had a reflash for the cat issue other than that it's been perfect! Never been on a track either. I love this car!
