FNBADAZ06 sporting some new Black Chrome shoes :)
Decided I wanted to change things up a bit, and I've always had a thing for black chrome....but I'm not going to give up my red stripe on the lip.
Ordered up some wheels and had them shipped to a vendor I've dealt with in the past to try some new stuff. I know I'll catch a little grief for selecting a style that looks alot like a GS wheel, but these are in 19/20 sizing and I didn't want to go too deep into custom wheels right now. Plus, I don't think anyone has done this combo and finish, so I'll be unique for a while again
I think they turned out pretty nice
So, how did they look on the car, you ask ?

What.....you didn't think just because it's cold and raining cats and dogs in Phoenix today that I wouldn't drive my car ? LOL
Dark, cloudy, and raining, doesn't stop the picture taking for me......
Turn the flash on, and it stopped raining for a bit

THanks guys.
Getting PM's, but everyone is asking the same question so I'll just answer here.
THe coating process is called P.V.D.......I'll just pull the info from their page :
"Black Chrome utilizes a proprietary dry method of applying metals and clear coats. It is a combination of two processes, Sputter Deposition and Powder Coat.
Sputter Deposition is a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) method of depositing thin films of metals by electro-statically charging the metals and sputtering or ejecting (vaporizing) metals from a target or source inside a vacuum chamber (to reduce contamination), which then deposits these metals onto the wheel or substrate.
After the metals are applied to the wheel in the vacuum chamber, a clear coat finish of finely ground particles of clear and/or colored pigments and resin is then electro-statically charged and applied on top of the metals. This powder coating is then baked in a curing oven until melted and fused into a solid and durable coating.
Due to the nature of the processing, some inclusions (air bubbles and / or fish eyes) may appear on each wheel in the clear coat. These inclusions are normal. Inclusions are not considered to be a defect and do not effect the longevity of the chrome finish"
Because is was more akin to powder painting, I asked the vendor if I could inlude a contrasting stripe that could be included under the top coat. They had never done this before, and you can't apply a painted stripe on a conventional chrome wheel, so they were willing to give it a try. Needless to say, it was very successful
Hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning the company, but it was California Chrome Wheel, Inc.
The wheel I used was the Muscle Sport GS, in 19x10 and 20x12 .
I purchased the black/machined version, but it doesn't really matter the finsish as it gets removed/stripped in the process.
Hope that answers the questions.
FYI.....the pictures do not do the wheel finish any justice.......they are beautiful in person.

Damn man, I didn't they could PVD black chrome. Fn sweet. Black chrome is killer but real BC is so soft that it scratches real ez. I imagine PVD would hold up great. Love the style too. Very very nice.

Yep, those are the wheels....mine started out as the machined/black version.
I got a rediculous deal on the wheels, which prompted me to perform this black chrome/red stripe experiment.
