Received My Cylinder Heads Back From RPM Motors
I did not like the spark plugs with only 10k mileage on my 2009 stock Z06. After some research, Charlie at RPM motors was very helpful recommending a valve job without CNC and milling since the motor stays mostly stock. I though it was a good price and wanted to share. Also, a good night sleep now knowing exhaust valve will not drop.

I'm a little confused about the work that was done. If the object was to stop worring about the exhaust valves dropping why was only one valve replaced? Did you have all the sodium filled valves removed before?

I didn't see any oil on the plugs.

Invoice is pretty confusing indeed.
I highly doubt a single stainless steel exhaust valve was 80 dollars -- a quick search online is showing exhaust valves in a pack of 8 costing 80-100 dollars.
Can you give us more detail? It makes no sense to do all that work and only replace one valve and a few guides.
The price is right -- if this was a "total package" solution then I'd be interested as well here in a few months. $1000 isn't bad for all new springs/valves/guides. If I could address the guide/valve issue for 1000 dollars I'd be happy as hell, would just need to find someone in the North Texas area that would want to help school me in head removal. (never done it before or even seen it done)

The invoice is confussing. All valve guides were replaced and all exhaust valves are now stainless steel. I thought it was a good price overall, and no worries with the drop valve issue. The motor will be tuned next and maybe the new spark plugs will look alittle cleaner after some miles are put on.

Plugs look fine to me - depending on how the vehicle was being driven it just looks a little sooty (like you need to press the loud pedal down a little more).
But good price on the head work, thanks for posting!

Hilarious confessions, huh?
OP: I'm sure your heads will be fine. Personally I would of done the CNC porting at that time since it was right there but if you plan to never mod your car - probably fine.

How deep are cross hatching marks on a cylinder bore?
Please rev it to 7000+ rpm all the time and record your oil type and max temps so we can gather more data.

Here's my plugs at 75K miles and smoking on start up with two obvious bad valve seals after removing the heads (by looking at the carbon build up on the pistons). I don't remember how I drove the car before engine shut down.

What were they with zero miles? I could probably hold the valve stem in my hand for a while and put them "in spec". IIRC most of mine only had one leading zero. I believe .0037" is the factory spec, you were only .0005" out of tolerance on the worse one, .0005" is a very small number BTW. A piece of paper or thickness of a hair is many times thicker (like 4-6 times). I can't think of an easy way to describe how small that is for people to understand, the roughness (difference between peaks and valleys under a microscope) of normal printing paper maybe?
