Default Burnout techniques for the strip

Just wondering what some of y'all's burnout techniques are? Personally I used to drop a small rev after backing in the water box then pull forward, drop the rev, hit the brake with left foot after releasing clutch and roll out once I felt it stick...however I'm a bit concerned about burning up these rear brakes...what do u tenured Vette guys do?

Are you asking about drag radials? Without a line lock you have to hit the Brakes although I have heated the tires good by not hitting the brakes at all.
In second gear roll through the water until the tires are almost to the end and take the rpms up and let out the clutch mashing the gas to the floor. I don't let off until I feel the tires start grabbing or the RPMs getting close to 7000.
If you have street tires you don't need to heat them as much.

Don't worry about wearing out your rear brakes. The few seconds of burnout won't equal a few minutes of spirited driving down a mountain road.

I've never understood how people can spend so much money on cars and mods but can't or don't spend another $100 on Line-Loc

I've been told a burnout is equal to braking down from 100mph. Nothing to fret about.

I like to back into the water just to get the tires wet then pull out and give them a quick spin to knock some water off. Then pull forward to do my actual burnout.

put your rear tires in the water box.get tires wet pull farward out of water...start in first gear....heel the brake an toe the gas same time same foot....get rpm's up to about 4k let out of the clutch ...use your heel to hold the brake and your toes for the gas. just don't hold the brake to hard...practice it on a old back road or parking lot...when done right it looks like an auto burnout

i use a line loc, 2nd gear burn out, playing with the throttle keeping it off the limiter. Mine is a 6 speed.

Auto is easier, but i personally would still get a line loc, especially if you drag the car alot.

I say the same thing about safety equipment, especially rollbars.
