Katech HD Race Slave / Tick / LS9X
I have a 2006 427 Z making around 570 whp.
Upgraded the clutch to a Katech LS9X with great results.
However after about 500 miles the clutch pedal started feeling a little mushy and would sink down a few inches when I was on it.
Changed out the Stock GM Master Cylinder....Problem Fixed....For maybe 100 miles. Spoke with Jason at Katech and he said to put a Tick Master Cylinder in it. Done. Problem Fixed.
However the clutch still felt a little soft if you will at times, especially after getting on it hard a few times. Jason from Katech told me they came out with a Heavy Duty Tilton Slave so I picked one up and did the swap.
DAM is all I can say. This is by miles the best clutch set up I personally have ever had. I really cannot say in words how nice this clutch is now

I htink the slave only works with the LS9X and LS9R clutches. or any clutch that uses a ZR1 slave. but I might be wrong. I think when I talked to Jason couple weeks ago he said something like that. I am sure he will chim in here soon

I know their website says that, but I don't know why. We've put them on 2009 vehicles.

Looks like a great unit. Glad to see more innovation.

So let me get this right. If you buy a LS9R/X clutch and you want to avoid the clutch pedal drop issue, get the Tick adj MC ($359). Also, if you want to avoid the plastic parts in the LS9 Slave Cyl from melting, you need to buy a special billet katech/Tilton slave cyl for about $900. Thats a lot of money for a production-type clutch performance, that in my case, would not allow me to upshift above 6800ish, when I'm used to shifting up to 7400 when needed.
