Hoosiers are lighter and bite a little better, but don't last as long as MT (the other best bet).
275/40R x 17 will work up to 550-600HP.

One more thing........
Does the wheels not having the pressure sensors for the psi affect anything?
What about the over all diameter being different from stock? Does it freak out the computer?

That tire diameter is not a problem either.
Enjoy the day

If you're serious about racing, then get OEM wheels as they are lighter. If racing is just an occasional fun thing, then the replicas are OK.

Thinking hard about going this exact route. Will my stock axles, tranny, rear, etc... hold up to launches with this setup?? 08 Z06, stock transaxle, RPS clutch and flywheel. 540 rwhp.

I run front c5z OEM wheels which are light (those replicas are boat anchors) and 275/40/17 MT drags. Car runs 10s all day with this setup.
Yes, the tire pressure sensors only freak when I drive an hr to the track with the drags on (no sensors), but turn the trac off as you will anyway and you're fine. When I swap at the track I never get the warning light, think it takes like 30 min or 30 miles.

The C5 Z06 17x9.5 / 275/40/17 combo looks small (and it is....it's about the same size as the fronts ).....especially on a C6 Z06 and it's wider rear fenders.
If you're looking for a street package that would double as a drag pack, you'll need to compromise the performance aspects for the look.

At 11:55 forum member D-Rod's black Z06 is on 17in Z06 fronts and 315 Hoosiers.
At 23.18 of the video a Yellow Z06 has C5 fronts on it. I believe 275 Hoosiers.
At 24:21 my Machine Silver Z06 is shown with C5 fronts and P315 35R 17 Hoosiers on it.
At 26:47 that appears to be a Mickey Thompson on a C5 Z06 front.
At 27:18 a grand sport is on what looks to be a C4 grand sport 17in wheel.

Honestly I've been tossing around the idea of going with the Weld RTS wheels, but I don't think I can justify spending that kind of money on a set of wheels that aren't practical. My friend has a set on his GS and look awesome, but with skinny tires up front and drag radials out back they aren't the best for everyday use. They sure look good though.
The 17x9.5 with Hoosier or MT's seems like the way to go, cheap enough to justify. A set of NT05r's to fit my stock rims are $380 each! And they won't hook like MT's.

I'd say it depends on how fast the car is.
If it is closer to stock then a 275/40/17 would be the way to go on that wheel.
If it is trapping over 130 ish the I would go with a 295/45/17.
If you went with an 11" wheel you could run a 315/35/17.

Aside from myself, there are a few people in here who have run the 315 on a Z06 front.
Check the C6 Z06 Fast List "Bone-Stock except Non-Stock Tires" and at least 2, if not 3 people on it have that setup.

I've run both the 315/35/17 and the 275/40/17 Hoosiers on the 17x9.5 wheel.
The 315 is a tight fit but does work perfectly fine.

The car has 560 at the wheels. So it ought to trap over 130. I have a set of MT 295/45 17's just need to find a set of wheels. I ran a set of these tires on my coyote 5.0 with a set of 10" welds and ran consistent 1.5 60'.
