lifting idea...safe?
I have just bought a set of 67" ramps with extenders for the purpose of doing oil changes, when the car is required to be level.
Tried them last night. They work well, but my jack doesn't fit under the mufflers when the car is on the ramps.
I have a sloped concrete driveway that appears to be at the perfect slope. If I back my car into the driveway, set the ramps in front, and then climb the ramps, my car would be very close to level without jacking the rear end. Then chuck the rear wheels.
Has anyone done this?
Does this sound like a safe idea?

Trying to picture this. It sounds like when you lift the rear wheels there is nothing stopping the car from rolling off the ramps. It does not sound safe to me.

Maybe you should post a picture of the driveway and the ramps placed, but without a car on it.

Check out the photo in post #48 of this thread. That's what you seem to be describing. If you want to get a floor jack under the rear of the car on level ground, then consider getting a set of Roll-Ups or Trak-Jax without stops to drive the rear wheels onto while you drive the front of the car up the ramps.

I have the same ramps and use them in conjunction of the slope of the driveway. Car is level on the ramps. I chock both rear tires and use the e brake. Been changing my oil this way for the last 3 years.

Do (will) the ramps slip on the driveway? I had ramps once and could never stop them from slipping when I tried to drive up on them.
Bad news. I am a jack/jackstand guy!

I'm not sure what brand they were, but I know they were not Race Ramps.
I just know that I was never comfortable with them and was glad to get rid of them.

Race Ramps Wheel Cribs
You can get two pair of Race Ramps 8" Wheel Cribs for $194 including shipping. Use them for five years and when you no longer need them you could probably sell them off for $150. Total cost $44. Lightweight, store them by hanging on a hook from included straps. Anything you make yourself is likely to have very little, if any resale value.

Well, first, I didn't mean what I asked about the structural strength as a challenge or disrespect to your product. It was legitimate curiosity. And sorry if I don't meet the grade to do calcs. I'm not a structural engineer nor that deep of a mechanic. It's actually why I asked if you had run any numbers.
