Feels good to not have to worry about it, doesn't it?
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/sout...-with-rpt.html
The listing will give people a chance to see, the number of members we have in here going this route, but more importantly, get an idea as to which vendors, some of whom are in their areas, and local to them and are available to perform the work.
Cozmo's was done by Brian@RPT, and his car was not down for a long time either.
Ryne Cunningham, Charlie@RPM, Randy@RaginRacin, Carlos at VetteAir, and several others names have come up, and are available to help you as well.
We have a tremendous resource in our forum vendors here, when it comes to this matter. At this point in time, there is no reason, aside from economic, to have to be exposed to the risk of a dropped exhaust valve in one of these cars. Because there is something out there which can help you avoid it. There is no reason for you to not pick up the phone, and ask one or more of these vendors, questions about this matter, and what kind of success they have had in the approaches they have used to combat it.
You can either stay in here and argue, and "guess", or you can pick up the phone. The choice is yours.
So I would urge those of you who might have questions, or who might be interested in this to contact our forum vendors with regard to it, to get straight ANSWERS, not bull$#**, and wild goose chases, to your questions.
Now we have at least 139 people in here who have gone this route, and we're still counting. I said at one time, that I thought that there are possibly as many as 200 people in here, who have gone this way..
PM some of them, ask them their experiences.

Looks like I may be getting my SS exhaust valves this Friday. I am also dropping in a cam and ported throttled body. Warranty is up in March and I want a reliable car for the spring.

Make no mistake, there is a lot to be said for regaining confidence in your car, after losing it.
The drivability of course does not change, unless you did other things too.
In other words, when I'm driving the car, I can't tell whether I'm running stainless valves, or the stock valves.
But the fact that I have more confidence in the vehicle, makes it that much more enjoyable to drive.......anywhere and any way, that I wish to drive it.

The engine. Plus you will be getting a power increase to boot.
And it would have been money well spent.
Best of luck to you, and post up a thread when you get the car back.

Well HyperX, if the work is done by a quality shop, and done right, well then you will be effectively extending the "warranty" on the most expensive item in the car to replace.

Quick:
Please add me to the list of Z06 owners runing SS exhaust valves. I had mine done two weeks ago but forgot to ask you to add me to your list.
What's the total as of now?

We are at 149 right now, and about 3 others in various stages of progress.
That would make the listing of members which I have been able to find in here go to 152.
I have reason to believe that there are at least 200 members on this forum who have gone this route.

Especially those who are on the fence about what to do about this issue and when, why and how to do it.
Your thread, tells them all of that.
It does me good whenever I see someone beat the dropped valve plague.
But today is somewhat bittersweet, because of this sad report.

Oh well, at least HyperX is out of the dropped valve derby. And that is a good thing.

While I love beer and it one of the essential canned goods at my house, my satisfaction comes in knowing that someone else won't be posting up that they lost a motor because a stock exhaust valve broke.
So it's a great day for me because I know that someone else has beaten it before it got them.
Every time one of you guys gets out if contention for the broken exhaust valve club, I feel like I did the day I got out if contention for it.
That is my reward and from where my satisfaction comes.
It's one less Z06 that we'll hear about failing a stock exhast valve in here and thus further tainting the image of the car.
Somebody else can get back to enjoying their car, the same way they did when they first got it and even beyond they get their peace of mind back, they het their confidence in the car back, and sometimes pick up some extra power to boot that, makes all of the debate, arguing, and whatever else, worth it.
Somebody helped me in my decision making process.
I'm simply trying to pay it forward.
