Default A Few Videos After the Heads and Cam Install

As some will recall, I decided to buy a set spare set of cylinder heads and have WCCH do their Stage 2 package in the throes and the controversy which is the LS7 valve issue.

The Stage 2 package or WCCH-GM Stage 2 CNC LS7 Heads package, they machine your supplied castings, they also do a hot tank and blast cleaning, install bronze valve guides, do their Stage 2 CNC port program, competition valve job, surface milling and new stainless steel exhaust valves.

In addition BT Platinum dual valve springs were also installed. The stock intake valves were also tumble polished.

In so doing, I also decided to add a Katech Torquer 110 cam while I was at it, C5R timing chain along with the Callaway cold air intake, a ported stock manifold and throttle body, and NGK TR6 spark plugs.

The car still has the stock exhaust manifolds on it, and I am probably going to later go with long tube headers.

With 30 miles on it, it will be a bit before it sees the dyno.

We want to make sure that the oil pressure is holding steady as well as the coolant temps among other things.

Dialing the street tune in with some normal street driving and highway cruising. The WOT stuff to come later.

I want to make sure first and foremost that it behaves itself on the street as that is where it will see most of it's duty.

Looks like those stainless exhaust valves rev nicely.

Sounds good!

How does she run during low RPM cruising with that cam? Any surging or bucking?

When I have to put mine up for winter I'm probably going to pull the heads and if I find anything amiss I was planning to do pretty much the same mods you did except, maybe, add a set of LG headers.

So did you schedule your clutch install with Sam yet? MIR will eat that stock clutch up with your new power. Did you see my BC2 there?

Congrats Ricky glad to see it's up and running. Agree with you, get some miles on it, mild street tune make sure everything is working and operating and gets some break in time before going WOT on the dyno .

I talked to him about that.

And yes, I did see that clutch that you got that great deal on.

Highway cruising, no bucking or surging whatsoever, even in 5th and 6th gear, it behaves just like stock in that regard. That was one of the reasons I took the highway videos to show it's highway manners. That and to give an idea of cabin noise with the cam and the stock exhaust.

Bucking in the 800-1500 RPM range if you are in "too high" of a gear. Sometimes will do it in 2nd gear, and just "parking lot cruising" looking for a parking space, you almost have to do that in 1st gear, so trying to nail down the tune.

But the torque is awesome.

Congrats quick you have waited patiently for this. I can feel your excitement in your post today! That sounds familiar also The touquer 110 cam is the perfect cam for the street. High lift sounds great at stoplights, but very streetable!!! The biggest thing i found was the power bump from around 55mph and up! 3rd gear is a monster. Look forward to seeing more of your mods ricky! to you
