Any other mods planned? The big three in no particular order are:

1. American Racing Headers
2. LG
3. Kooks.

I used the ARH's on my 2006C6 coupe. Form, and fit were excellent. Try doing a search on the fourm for headers, I am sure you will get lots of opinions. Good luck.

Yes i have heard american racing do fit the best. Your right they are the top 3. I heard lg Super pro long tuibes where best for track and someone else said kooks best for quarter mile. American racing i never heard what they are better for. I want to squeeze even 1hp more if any of these 3 will do that.

A big waste of moey. You are going to spend over 2500 dollars for 7 measly horsepower. If you arent going with heads and cam dont put on headers.Your car will not be any faster than stock.

I won't debate the horsepower gain, but 2500 bucks really? You can buy a nice set for 1200, throw in a tune and you are at maybe 1600. People pay 1200 for axle back exhaust just to make noise for heaven's sake.

If you only see a peak of 7 hp, you need to look for other issues. I picked up 19 hp across the board, not just a peak number. You can feel the difference. If I onyl saw 7 HP with headers, i would be upset.

I use ARH 1.875 with no issues, excellent quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Kook or LG either.

What are your future plans for the car? That will really dictate what you choose. Are you going to take it to the track?

1. ARH
2. KOOK

Have heard negatives about LG's. I had them on my C5, the fitments were low quality.

I've had the Kooks in my TT SRT8 300, they where low!!my Z06 has the ARH and I go over the same speed bumps tat my 300 scraped on with no issues, and my Z06 is 3.5 "s off the ground at the side skirts and Front Splitter, so, I have to go with ARH just for that, and I know that my Z has lees clearance as they both sat!!

Mine were only $1700 installed (ARH). That included the X-pipe and hi-flo cats. It was the tourque under the curve I felt the most. AND it added a great sound with the muffler mod. I assume you haven't tried headers on your Z and just offering up an uninformed opinion??

To get the most out of the headers you need a tune and then you will pull the "stock car pretty easy"
