I have not had the valve guides checked yet, but I'm planning on sending the heads to WCCH sometime soon though. I'm ordering engine oil/filter, trans, and diff fluid from AMSoil right now, so not sure what brand is currently in it.

Yah so how much is that GTR tranny costing these days? Oh yah... A TON more than some valves and guides.

By the way working on 40k miles here... WCCH heads and black panther cam with SS valves and new retainers about 5k miles ago. Just finnally got a true dyno tune done. Runs like a champ and the ss valves do not effect the rev at all.

I'd say 80k miles is noteworthy. Any street car should get to 100k without major issues assuming no track duty. Yes the gtr tranny is a legendary sore spot, kindof like the exhaust valves in the ls7.

That's awesome about the ss valves. I feel like we are on the cusp of having an answer for the exhaust valves. Now just run it for 40k and get back to us tomorrow

Yes 80k would be nice. I will see though she does see the drag strip a lot. I will definently post if their are any issues with the SS valves or anything for that matter down the road.

Like I said, most people. It's obvious you don't fall in that category.

Purchased used Sept 2006 with 400 miles. Driven daily making sales calls and now has 152,000 trouble free miles. No mods. No track time. Still like it so much that I ordered a 2013 Z06 today, same color VY. Should be here in early October. Will probably be one of the last C6 Z06s produced. Don't see any trouble with the LS7s. It will produce 30mpg highway if driven @ 65 mph. Anyone know of another 500+hp car that has this type of performance with this reliability when daily driven?

06Z, 2LZ, LMB
74,000 miles total
31,000 on first engine till March 08
43,000 on current engine, completely bone stock down to air intake.

No issues whatsoever.
Did an oil analysis with Blackstone labs, came back clean as a whistle from a 3,000 mile sample of Mobile 1. Wear additive was still going strong.

Vehicle 1 warranty until 2016.
