Nope, but the reports don't change the fact that they are breaking, as they say ignorance is bliss...

This is how a real design flaw/problem unfolds. Recall on the Turbo Panamera issued today:

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/07/18/p...rbo/#continued

It has nothing to do with what the manufacturer wants or hides as some people theorize. When engines are a no go owners get peeved and don't just hide away the information.

Sorry if this doesn't jibe with the conspiracy theories, but some of us actually have a Z06 and drive them in the real world.

I find it odd that members like vertC6 are so invested in the failure of this engine and don't even own one. I don't go to other forums and trash their cars under the auspices that "One day I might own one" so I am really really concerned, not a troll looking to stir up trouble. Just a **** thing to do.

Lets see how many non Z06 owners chime in, like clockwork, on these type of threads.

The C6 Z06 forum has really brought out some d-bags. I have been on this forum for over ten years. Put 80,000 miles on my 02 Z06 and have 22,000 miles on my 09 Z06 - we never saw so much negativity and trolling like this on the C5 Z06 forum. Just sad.

Some people are just haters. I have friends that drive P-cars and all they do is bash my ride cuz it's a "Chevy". I usually point out that it will kick their (P-car) butts any time anywhere and it's at least just as reliable. Haters that's it.

Yup. From a dig a Z06 doesn't stand a chance against the New AWD PSD Turbo 911 but from a roll it's lights out. Z06 is just a much better faster car that doesn't sound like a sewing machine at WOT.

Really:

Column locks
Bent pushrods
Broken springs
clutch's stuck to the floor
rocking seats

come to mind

The 2001 z06 with oil going past the rings was big topic too

Every single local z06 that has had the heads off has had excessive wear. That alone is enough for me to be concerned.

I never said there weren't problems - it is the way they are being "addressed" now is what I have a problem with. My valve spring broke on my 02 Z06 and I didn't cry about it, scream design flaw, and start twenty threads about it. I had a warranty and I got it fixed. I put 80,000 spirited miles on that car with several track days and that was the worst of it.

My car was stock and the C5 Z06 owners who modded their cars and had subsequent problems would not blame the LS6 or GM.

The guys who owned 2001 C5 z06 did and were rightly pissed! Along with F body owners, and SUV/Truck owners...

On my modified FRC LS1 (heads, cam, Fast92), I road raced some and quarter mile raced that car. Never had a problem with the engine. Things that broke were my fault not GM's.

Now that my car is "fixed" from the dealer, I think I'm gonna take a break from the forums. Same ole' stuff. I get tired of reading about "my cousins, best friends, roomates, girlfriends, great uncles' stock Z06 blew at the track" OMG MANUFACTURER DEFECT, WE'RE ALL DOOMED!

Yeah, I had a 2001 GMC Sierra and it used a butt load of oil. Since new and seemed to get worse w/mileage.
