Another busted exhaust valve
Here is another Z06 coming apart, its a 2008 with less than 15k miles.
Missing exhaust valve head in number 4
Metal flooded intake manifold
Windowed block
This was a stock Z, the only thing it had was headers and a Corsa exhaust system.

Warranty denied, had headers. I have to admit the owner was running it hard but it was on the street, and all he was doing was a big burnout. Not sure how big or how hard he had twisted the engine but knowing the guy it was likely pretty tight. Never the less the rev limiter should have protected it.

I'm curious of the extent of the mods though. Cats still on the car? What tune? Intake done? Any clue on how much RWHP it was putting down?

before the owner had it towed to the dealer he should have put the factory exhaust manifolds back on and re-flashed the ECM back to a stock tune, if that is possible once the motor has gone KA-BOOOOm.

This car wasn't stock.
But on the chance that he was still running the stock tune after the headers, so as to not adversely affect his warranty, well, a lot of good that did him.

I had my car with header + CAI without a tune for a while. I have just bought the car and thought I will keep the stock tune in case something happens. I also know another guy with 31k miles with headers and CAI and no tune. they exist and its faster than a stock Z06!

Burning Brakes
Very unfortunate.
I was convinced reading all the valve threads on here that I need to pull my heads and send them to WCCH, then I talked myself out of it because I'm not too sure about increasing the weight of the valvetrain. Now seeing two valve heads drop recently I'm starting to lean to pulling the heads. Stock or modified, look at the damage. Is it worth it keeping the hollow stem exhaust valves? I hardly think so.

Actually, the dealer, and GM claimed abuse with the amount of tire rubber found in the rear wheel wells. At least that is what they told me. Also I have found in most cases here, headers with high flow CATs will void the warranty, the claim is that one would alter the emissions systems of the car with the aftermarket headers and CATs.
