According to your logic, a car is nothing besides a HP number and if that is the case why even buy a Corvette? Just buy a used Mustang and throw a supercharger on it and save yourself $40k. My buddy has a 10 second 1992 mustang and it cost him $15k with car and mods..done!

I wanted a normally aspirated motor making great power. The fact the Z06 has a 427 cubic inch motor also played in my decision.

I'm not a fan of any blue Corvette color from 2008-2013, while I have a strong preference for LeMans Blue. Had GM offered a LeMans Blue Grand Sport, I'd probably have looked for one of those instead, and just gotten used to the fender gills. Black is the only other Corvette color I like...and my last two cars have been black.

Honestly though, the Z06 was a dream car for me nine years ago...something at the time I didn't think was a realistic goal. Now I can buy one for half the price of new, and replace the heads for quite a bit less than most used Grand Sports are offered for...and not have to settle for a color I don't care for.

Now the conundrum is figuring out the best option for the potential head/valve issue.

Haha, I bought my Z06 last month, used at 11k miles. 09 and I just got the extended warranty. I am not worried one bit, because I wont be modding the engine at all. come 3 years when my warranty is up....woop there is my down payment for the c7 z06 ...Plus getting used to this horsepower is going to take some time.

Why wouldnt someone just buy an LS3 vette and throw a roots blower on it. Or do full bolt ons and mild cam to get around 500rwhp.

This isnt to start a **** storm but Im sure thinking twice about wanting a Z06 now
Then don't. BYE!!!

You really have done NO homework. Just buy your LS3 and move on.

Seriously doubt it. I do honestly think they've got the issue handled. Thicker valve stems, and 100% inspection of the heads / guides.

With all the information out about these cars, the answer is simple. Buy a used Z06 and negotiate 3k off the price of the car if the heads are stock to have them inspected and replaced.....enjoy the Z06.
