Gonna have to try this. Just not willing to go ceramic on my C6Z...not thrilled with them on my C5Z outside of less dust.

I really discourage people from ceramic pads but some people really want them because of low dust and noise

I just bought a set of posi quiet semi metallics to replace the posi quiet semi metallics that I've had on the car for over 50K great braking miles. They ran $84 for both sets, delivered to my door!!!

What a deal No Corvette Tax for me....

I have used both the Posi Quiet and Carbotech 1521. Like many I quickly got tired of the dust from the OEM pads so at about 2500 miles I swapped to the Posi quiets, low dust, no noise and preformed well on the street. At about 5000 miles I swapped to the Carbotech 1521, mainly because I liked the single pad option they offered. Today I have about 10000 miles on the Z and the Carbotech's have been very clean and quiet as well as having excellent street performance. I like the Carbotech better than the Posi but they are more expensive.

A couple related items:

When I installed the Carbotech's I also flushed my brake fluid and refilled with a DOT 4, easy to do.

If you go with an aftermarket pad your OEM pads will be easy to sell especially if they are low mile. The OEM pad is a decent track pad so the track guys like them.

I read in this thread that someone suggested the Armor All wheel protectant, works good but for painted wheels only, no chrome.

Over a week with the Posi Ceramics and wheels are still spotless, no dust!
Under normal street driving I cannot tell the difference in braking from the oems.

Who has the best deal on ceramic brakes? Tired of cleaning my wheels every other day, these OEM are notorious with brake dust...

Incredible how much less dust!

How did the Hawks "destroy" your rotors??!!

They wore the rotors down where there was a 3/32" deep lip on the either side of both front rotors. The rears had 1/16" of wear. That was with 30K miles of regular street driving. I replaced all 4 rotors ($250, all 4) when I put on the new posi quiets. After 50K with my posi quiet semi metallics the rotor wear is negligible. There's still a leading edge chamfer on the rotors. Braking between the ceramics and the semi metallics are about the same too. As I said before, dusting is less with the posi quiets then the Hawks.

I just installed carbotech 1521 street pads last week .. They feel almost identical to stock pads .. Very tiny difference in initial bite vs the stock pads . Can't comment on the dust yet as I just put them on . Performance wise they seem great

Where did you purchase your posiquiets?
TPS only sells ceramic posiquiets for C6Z.
