They cannot legally change the mileage on the car. So it just continues from where you are at currently.

Yeah if you change it you're only screwing yourself. The next time your mileage gets recorded it'll automatically flag you as a fraud/altered vehicle in systems like carfax. Plus it's typically the mileage on a chassis, not just motor that they're recording. The last car I had a motor swap in, I kept all the paperwork stating when the engine was replaced as it will help you when going to resell the vehicle.

on New Year's eve I blew up the engine (one rod, then valve, then piston....)...the car had custom grinded cams! acording to the corvette engineer at the dealer, that was too much for the engine and done for numbers not for safety!

the good thing, even though it took JAN/FEB/MArch to get it replaced, I did NOT pay a dime on that! thanks to the vette engineer and team, they did fight for me, not to pay anythying and it went 4 levels of management until aproved!

I did not know about the milage, I thought is a choice that I would make, but it make sense to continue, besides will apear serviced on record anyway! all I care is that the engine is new and smells new and did not pay anything!!!!!

thx all

I have a question. What happens to the "bad" engines after GM replaces them? Where do they go?
