If I keep my stock Z06 mufflers and hook them up to the the high flow cats version, am I handicapping the performance gain of the headers much?

Not at all. I made 1050rwhp through LG super pro 1 7/8" and stock mufflers. Best combo out there for cars 500-1000rwhp.
