New 12.1:1 heads on 93oct w/ dyno pics
After a almost a year running my cam and headers package that Quality Motorsports installed for me last year, I finally got the heads done to complete the build. All I can say is that I should have done this a while ago, as it's made the car run 10 times better! You can feel the extra power, the throttle response is better, the engine runs smoother, even the valve train is quieter from the typical "ticking" you get from the LS7s. I’ve wanted to do the heads ever since I started using nitrous since I felt that my exhaust valves could be on borrowed time. We didn’t halfass anything with these heads. New ss exhaust valves, new springs, guides, pushrods, rocker arms. The only thing left in place was the Ti intake valves.
Richard at WCCH did all the CNC work, milling to 12.1:1 and also did a little work in the bowl around the spark plug area to safely run this compression on 93. (I don’t pretend to know much about head design, all I know is that reshaping that area helps with flow and fuel atomization) The mamba cam has a SERIOUS extra thump with the higher compression.
I’m shocked at how well the car drives after doing all this. I always hear people talk about a H/C set up that drives like stock. Well this is it. I put it in 6th gear on the highway yesterday running 1200rpms, I gave it a little gas and there was ZERO surging. I suppose I could add at FAST 102, NW tb, and ATI under drive pulley to reach the 600hp mark, but I really don’t want to. The car is PERFECT and I don’t see any reason to mess with it at this point. I couldn’t be happier!
The best pull was 580/527. I picked up more than 30hp at the wheels with my previous numbers being between 545-550.
I’m going to re-dyno later with the nitrous. The first pull spun the tires and by the second pull I had lost bottle pressure. I didn’t have my NANO filled and there weren’t any bottle heaters laying around sooo I’m not sure what the peak HP will be, I’m guess around 720. You can see on the graph where I lose pressure. This is why the NANO kits are the way to go, you’re gains on nitrous are always linear to being on motor only.
Big thanks to Patrick and QMS for the build and always answering all my random questions!

No Super Bee, still my KBII. i thought about upgrading the air bridge to the 103 but decided against it. Yes i know the specs on the cam but wont post that stuff out of respect for Carlos. Its about as big as you can go without sacraficing any drivablity.

Awesome results man. I'm sure it is a blast to drive.

No idea, but several others are running higher compression with e85 without any clearance issues.

I was thinking about the same if adding a FAST intake, NW, and Superbee will be worth the 30-35hp increase for the money to my current setup (WCCH 11.6 heads and Katech torquer cam) 580hp/522tq.

Oh no problem Juan... My names Thomas btw. I think Nick ^^^ was the one asking the question.
You know I may do all those things later down the road but just didn't see any reason too for now. If its that 600# you're looking for then go for it. I didn't want to have to change my nitrous set up. Yes I'm running the stock injectors.

Thanks,
Carlos
