Default *** The Fastest Bolt-On C6 Z06 in the Country (Canada)***

Well, Yesterday was a great day for me and my car and I would like to share it with you guys ! I know It could disapointed some ( Maybe Bruce and Gary), but remember in 2009 when I lost my first place in the fastlist, Robz and Gary have kidding me alot !!! And even more, Bruce have take the second place and give me alot of hard time over the bord.

So like a good soldier I have taken all the left and right hook over the chest.

So Yesterday, I'll took the car to the track of Pont Rouge for maybe the last test and tune session of the season for that track. The car was prep since 3 week now and I'm chasing the weather.

Yesterday after 5 hres trip, we finally arrived to the track. The weather was good. But not perfect. What is busy me the most is that headwind right in the face of my car. I don't know how this affect my top en mp/h, but this things is bad.

Weather: 42F
Baro: 29.98 to 30.06 through the Day
Humidity: 46%
Winds: Headwind ranging from 9 to 13 mp/h
DA : -725'

Ok I will continue in another post.

Well, I took off the car on the start line. The car is now lighter than the last 5 june 2011 with a DA of +1125'. I'm supporting a new set of rear weld wheels, new Hoosier 275-40-17 , custom lightweight exhaust made by myself with an old Viper 2002 Borla Cat back, and PFADT adjustable shocks.

All I want to told to everyone who read this threads, is that it are really DIFFICULT to get all star aligned. The hard part is the driver launch. Many of us would think: Yeah ... we can .... But sorry, Gary , Bruce and myself include know how it hard to get a good launch to get that kind of E.T. So I have made around 15 passes. Experiencing all sort of trouble, wheel hop, too much tire pressure, too less, bug , Tire over heated by too long burn out ,SPINNING due to a too fast clutch release and High RPM launch, missed one gear , but it just happen one run .. jesus !!! ( In that run the shifter found a black spot between the 3 and 5th gear , and the reverse light have lighten !!! we could clearly see on the video !!! crazy. That make me mad at some point.

But at the end of the Day, I have backed my best 3-4 time.
I could call it a Day !!!Hapiness is all in my face this morning.

I know Bruce you are crying over , So I will let you know right now my timeslip . And no it is not a trick of threat !!!

Best run at 15:00

60': 1.458
660': 6.484 @ 109.77 mp/h
1/4 : 10.125 @ 134.05 mp/h

Backed by :
1.501
6.524 @ 109.93 mp/h (best)
10.166 @ 134.01 mp/h

Best 60' of the day 1.450 coupled by a slight drop in RPM who have hurt my E.T. at 10.170
So by the time I have seen the 1/8 miles mp/h, I have know that my 1/4 mile mp/h seem a little low. From the driver point of view, 3 factor could lead to that. Expert could tell ...

The 13 mp/h headswind , Very low tire pressure to hook up that 275 skinny (12 PSI) and my data log show me 1.5 degre of retard by the big end of the run . ( I know I have try to get the max out of that mule !!!) That 1/8 mp/h should normally traduce into a 137.75 to 138 mp/h. Because the car always gain around 27-28 mp/h from 660 to 1320.

This is a first point of view of a first rapid data analysis.

Probably, this record will not hold for that long, Because I know that I have now give to Gary more challenge, and he perform very well when he have challenge !! Way to go my friends, 10.0 is on you're way !

And from the driver point of view, Some are left on the table with that car. Perfect launch (1.40 or so) perfect weather and perfect track to get that tire pressure to 16- 17 psi low 10.0 is very very possible.

My launch RPM by my log are 4600 RPM.
I will post the video soon .
I will post my submission this week on the fastlist too.

But what is the probleme with that fastlist ? no administrator ? Single one ?? Not really funny, for who is working on theire car to get visibility. That fastlist is a kind of award that we all working on. So please admin who read this post, do something please.

Have a good day,
Sébastien

Congrats. That is moving for a bolt on only car. I wish that I could see -725 DA's out here and a track that will hold it's prep at 45*

Congrats! Nice run. Watched the video, what were you racing against, the fastest Jeep in Canada? Hahahaha

(and, you need a wider trailer)

Congrats mon ami. Great pass. I was wondering when you would be posting since that Canadian air was starting to look good. It looks like you have figured a lot out. Great job again!

Merci beaucoup Gary !!!

I'll try to learn fast, track is far from home, so chance to get there are limited for me.

Anyway, you have opened the way to that kind of E.T by a bolt-on car.
