Default 2011 exhaust

Starting in 2011 the Z06 went with a X versus H cross over. When I watched my car being build at Bowling Green, I was shown the difference as the cars went overhead on the conveyor. As you can tell, it sounds great even around town. Jump on it and watch heads turn. Fun.

I don't see anyone saying it's not fair. They're just making reasonable assumptions. Assumptions that have turned out to be true whenever a Z06/ZR1 on F1s or PS2s loses on some track against an ACR, Ferrari on Corsas or Super Sports, or Porsche on Cups.
If you were really in a position to buy an LFA, that's not the kind of choice you'd be making. LFA costs that much because they've limited production to only 500. You can bet if Chevy announced the C7 will be limited to just 500 units total, it won't start at anywhere near the current base $50k.

So if cheverolet test these cars at tracks like this, why do I hear so many people on here with warrenty claims( blown engines) being denied due to track use? Saw this engine in that test cat was over 7K several times.

The problem is the connection you're making. Just because it's capable of track use doesn't mean GM should sponsor your racing fun for 100,000 miles.

My 06 Z had headers, no cats, CAI, a nice cam and tune. It sounded great at WOT....but my 11(stock) is LOUDER. It really sounds nasty....

Great video. I also love the sound and am wondering what it would take to get that on an 08? Are the muffles the same? I always was under the impression the X made the car quieter, not louder. Anyway, that is one mod I would consider if it could be done somewhat reasonably in terms of price.

I think the Corvette sounds much better.

Let me put this lap time in MY perspective:

My best ever lap at Laguna Seca is only 1:44xx. The winner of my race (Terry Gough) turned 10 laps in the 1:40.xx range.....which would have placed him in the middle of the 2009 Historic CAN AM grid! These (Corvette, Viper, Porsche, GTR, Ferrari and Gallardo) modern street sports cars are incredibly quick, and fast.....with the right (experienced) driver. I really don't understand the need to mod them. God help the new owner who thinks that ownership makes him a driver.

Quick is an understatement. Probst's time would have been about top 10 or so in the 2006 Speed World Challenge GT Laguna field. Those cars are about 500 pounds lighter with full aero.

Why the heck did they keep that ugly *** steering wheel? I mean a darn 14,000 vehicle has a better and sportier steering wheel. That tells you all you need to know why GM went BK. I worked for GM and if you saw things that I saw you would know why we went BK.

There was a dude who said the tires were unfair and to give the LFA those tires.

From what I have read , yes! I had mine on a lift and the new X-pipe says ZR1 right on it. You would have to buy the x pipe and mufflers from a 2011-2012 Zo6. Forum vendors are selling them. There is a big difference and it's still quiet w/ no drone when you want.

I didn't see it, but regardless, I don't agree it's unfair. The manufacturers chose what they chose and have to live with it. But, the disparity in tires can't be discounted. It's been brought up numerous times whenever a Corvette lost on PS2s or GY F1s. I, and others, have been saying for years that GM should lose the F1s and put proper performance tires on their most track-oriented Corvettes. It's natural that others will note the same for other cars that are on relatively crap tires.
To give you an idea, the tires on the LFA (S001) were an option on the Ferrari 458. Want to know how many tests I've seen with Ferrari using this tire? Zero. All have been on either the PS2 or the newer, better MPSS.
