Default Clicking from Wheel - Can you figure this out??

So my rear wheel is clicking when I am moving and I can't seem to figure out what the issue is. I have already tried torquing the axle nut, and that did not fix the problem.

Here is the weird part, when I am rolling down my alley, the clicking stops! The alley has a slanted surface (downgrade to center of alley) so that means the alley surface is putting more pressure on the outside of the tire. What could the issue possibly be?

Do a search in the C5 section. I had the same clicking sound, there is a thread on how to fix this. (may have the link at home)

Nail or screw in the tire.. Happened to my previous Vert and drove me nuts because it only did it pulling into my driveway.

I had the same thing in my pass rear and after about two months of driving and one hard launch, I was replacing my axle. After the axle was installed, I had no more clicking. Try checking the axle nut or check for hair line cracks in the end next to the transmission.

Not sure how your clicking noise is, is it from a low speed roll? Try removing the center hub cab on suspected wheel. My center hub cab will crackle and pop with the car sitting still. All I have to do is open the garage door to induce a slight temperature change. It will cracle from a low 2-5 mph roll then quieten up. Let us know.

And if all fails, make sure the parking brake is not rubbing inside the rotor.

Depending on what type of bolts, maybe the cap/bushing has broke off at the end of the bolt where it meets the control arm? Might be worth taking a look.

Corrosion/rust built up on axle splines within wheel hub. Had the same issue on mine. Axel nuts where torqued correctly. Bought new nuts. Removed old nuts, sprayed penetrating oil from both sides of axle shaft. Let sit for over 2 hours to soak in. Slid each axle shaft into differential (approx. 3/4") several dozen times back and forth while lubricating. Installed new nuts and mine have been "clicking" free for over 8 months. I have read that this is a temporary fix. If the issue returns I will be pulled the half shafts out to thoroughly clean/lubricate them and the hubs.

Hmmm mine will click when I first pull out or back up. I typically can get it to click changing direction after that. Mine is just one click then thats it. Not sure what mine is yet either. Axle nuts are tight, suspension bolts are tight. WEIRD!

Friend of mine had a "clicking" going on for a little while. The dealer was test driving it for another problem & the axel broke when the tech pulled into the driveway to the dealership.

I'm in the same boat...

While the wheels were off this weekend I torqued the axel nuts to 160 ft lbs (both were loose BTW). Unfortunately I still have the intermittent clicking. I will check the sway bar end links next.

I agree, the first thing I would do is remove the center caps and see if that stops it.

also if you have 2pc front rotors (AFX etc) the anti-rattle clips on the calipers can catch the hat on the rotor. Since it's got cut outs it makes some funny noises, but I wouldn't see how that would change in the alley..
